I didn't participate in this cruise, due to a combination of the following (but in no specific order of importance):
--the duplicate-recipe final prize - I'd seen this recipe as a regular recipe before at least once, maybe twice, and I'd maxed it out already when it was 'regular'. I feel like it seems a little plain for a gem-earning recipe
--general lack of interest in this theme - I like decorating my restaurant (to whatever extent I can ), and the decor items, barring Lady Luck, didn't really appeal to me
--unfortunately, I usually have to spend gems in order to be able to finish cruises I spent some on the last cruise (with Breanna the bride) and wanted to recoup my loss before moving onto another cruise. I thought this one came pretty suddenly after the last one

Other thoughts:
--Despite my non-participation, I actually liked that the prizes for this cruise line did not include stamps. I don't frequent this forum enough to know what the general opinion of them is, but I have more than I really need right now, and enough Duck Eggs, Turbinado Sugar, and European Butter (or the means by which to get them) to last me quite a while. And because Lani and cooking recipes also randomly drop stamps now, including gold ones, I don't think this is a necessary feature for cruises - I'd rather see full-decor cruises moving forward

While I don't hate cruises, they are becoming very stale for me considering the prizes are either recolored npcs and items that were already offered in the past. I do like the fact that you guys are reusing limited time event dishes as the prize since I really liked a lot of them. I do miss the other event that we used to have where we collect special drops from limited time npcs to make dishes that'll unlock a permenant one. I also miss the cruise events where winning the gem prize will also unlock a special regular recipe. Im just getting bored of cooking the same thing and getting the same prizes, basically.

I do think reusing cruise events is pretty good for people who missed out on the prizes before but, it's not fair for those who already have it. So mixing up old prizes and new ones could be a nice compromise.

While I usually enjoy cruises there's a few things that I didn't like about this cruise even though I finished it just to get the new character because that part I liked.

In no particular order the parts I didn't / don't like:
- No gold stamp rewards. At this point in the game where I have unlocked everything there is (except for some floor and pantry expansions) all there's left for me is to master dishes. And the one thing I'm short on is European butter to work on those recipes to master them. I have boat loads on unused duck eggs, recipe cards and turbinado sugar.

- 7 beef is just too much for the recipe. Sure finally one that doesn't use sugar. I'm far behind on mastering all sugar requiring recipes so that's a bonus but 7. Those can't be collected in one maxed out butcher shop and needs a 2 hour wait.

- Reusing of special items the character drops. This is the same reason I didn't like the last wedding cruise. The new bride drops the same thing as the other bride and the wedding slice is exactly the same as the wedding cake you can cook with the groom items.
Because of the 7 beef and needing 7 chips I'll only cook this recipe until I mastered it and then I'd never cook it again because I'd use my chips to cook the clams simply because I only need 4 chips for that clam recipe so I can cook more of those with the same amount of chips and the much easier ingredients.

The cruise ended 10 hours before time. I was in my last day with only 250 gems to finish and 10 hours to finish. And the game ended prematurely.

I have managed to finish the cruise,

If you click on the first button on the right, the ship one that says the time to finish, the one above sally, then you will go to the cruise screen.

I spent 15 gems and 14 helping hands and I finished the cruise.

When do the cruises start? We don't get notifications and I like to start cooking a day or two before cruise starts. And they seem to be sporadic on when they start.

There dont seem to be a fixed schedule. I got notification (cruise pop up screen) in my game, didn't you get yours?

I was scrambling to start the first day as the autostart happened before I was ready. When autostart is scheduled to begin, it's not very clear. I like to have some control on my ending cruise day because of the time involved in finishing. It takes more of my time and attention as I seem to get mostly 2 and 3 coin dishes on this last day. In most of the cruises I've participated in I've rarely been enthusiastic about the prizes. Most of them stay in storage. I do agree that a mix of prizes (some old and some new) would be beneficial to all players during the cruise events. In this Return to Vegas cruise I participated because I didn't do this one before and I wanted to get the new recipe.
