I'm using an iOS device and I've been stuck on the new challenge Spun Sugar Glider chapter 3 for a couple of days. I have all the check marks for it and it won't move on to next chapter. The other challenges are working fine.

Hi, I couldn't find a bug report thread so I'll do it here,
There's a problem with the mine; as soon as I pick a tool the game crashes and when the game opens back up I've lost the tool

Looks like your device is low on memory and/or space and the app crashed. Try the suggestions in Device Performances in What can I do to try to resolve my game issues?
