Other than turning in items, event items typically grant 1 RM point for every collection as does fighting event monsters and you can also get RM points by throwing cabbages in the Baron's Tent.

Since no one else explained this....the official drops don't start until the event ends for everyone. Even though you might have finished the event, there are others who are still working on it. The official drops should start Wednesday after 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time, I believe.

I have determined i like storybook events better than others. I like having a daily goal for progress.
