I think the source for peppermint stick is candy bear, not candy helper.

Is anyone else not getting any fangbeast spawns? I got one for Goal 4 from a trap I had, now I have used way more energy than normal trying to get a fangbeast to spawn for the second chewed candy cane. Nothing from farmhouses or pigs. Edit: just got one from a gingerbread bush as recommended on the previous page. Still took about 20 more energy.
Chop the gingerbread bushes. I have only been getting fangbeasts from those bushes.
Aw, man! I'm so sad that the Candy Bears don't have any sound effects when we battle them
I also a fangbeast from a cow looking for the candy bear. I have chopped an entire bush and gotten no fangbeasts as well. Just keep chopping; they will eventually show up and make sure you don't have any other monsters on your board. There seems to be a delay or maybe I just chop many things too quickly but more than twice I thought I had no monster spawned but the monster I was trying to get didn't show and I looked again and saw a monster:-( quite aggravating
