Earning gems by watching ads?

I'm on android, and I can't see an option to earn gems watching ads. I used to play on iOS when this game was first out and I remember it was a feature of that version.

Is there a way to earn gems watching ads on android?

Currently I can only do the download goals but hungry babies has a bug where it won't open (outdated version message) even after I download through the link so the goal is stuck in my catalog, and there are no more download offers.

The only other way to earn gems I see is through ordering.

Anyone have any info I'm missing? Are you able to watch ads for gems?

Also, why can't you trade gold for gems?

As far as I know, it is an iOS only feature.

On top of that, the feature is considered a promotional offer so not all players get it and those that do can see it come and go without warning.
