Going by posts for the Royal Kelpie after its original release im pretty sure it is a guaranteed energy dropper.
Royal kelpie is also a good multi-dropper. Today i got +5 energy, horse hair, 2 or 3 each of water, fertilizer and mermaid scales!

I might even go all in and get a second Royal Kelpie

Sorry about that, the castle is a coin only dropper. I've amended my post. Mine is nestled in with all the energy droppers and I've brain fog for being locked out of my game for 3 weeks! lol

From what I've seen so far, the gem drops and energy drops are random and yes would likely be 1-2 gems and 5 energy. I bought one in the sales, so if there is any other info, I'll post.
