Nothing here that excites me enough to spend the Independence holiday toiling away on either the main or side goal. Thanks Moggol for posting the information about the goals. Oh, and the gear/sprocket is NOT a fancy fork. When was the last time S8 put out a goal without any major mistakes. A LONG time.

My first impressions:

• I like the idea of Fine Dining for a goal theme; I'm just not really sure this one was executed well.
  
• With the table, chair, and flooring: if they didn't have 'Fine Dining' in the name (and even then), I wouldn't have associated them with a Fine Dining theme, nor would I necessarily use them when designing my restaurant for the theme.
  
• I think my main problem is that none of this seems to match. The tables and chairs are different from the ones featured in the wallpaper, which are different from the ones featured in the Tableside Salad and Flame Dessert Serving displays. Not everything needs to be matchy-matchy, but a little more coordination would be nice.
  
• I did think a lot of these items would go well with prizes from the Romantic Dinner crate (image in spoiler below), but again... coordination :/

• If we end up getting tables and chairs like the kind that's featured in the wallpaper - a round-top cream-colored table with a vase of flowers and matching seats - I think that would go a long way towards tying things together. I like the table and chair we got separately, but I'm not sure I would use them together.
  
• I like that the side goal prize complements the goal theme, and I'm really happy to be seeing higher-placed goal prizes come back as side goal prizes Holding out for the Beachy Sandcastle to feature as an eventual side- or 5-day goal prize, lol!

I like the bread basket recipe, but I'm on the fence as to whether I'll continue/finish this goal :/

Agree with everything you said! The table is ok, but the chair looks awful as does the counter lol...The only reason I'm doing it is I don't have that particular piano

but for someone like me, 'looking delicious' matters more 😏 Hence the counter displays are important.. you know fine dining like this could have better counter displays 🥹

Speaking of counter displays, here is the counter display for the Fancy Bread Basket, and it's tabletop display when customers are eating:





I'm genuinely disheartened that they went back to a "mini 3x" counter display for this one I don't know what I was expecting but 3 shrunken baskets on a wooden chopping block wasn't it, lol.

This is one where I wish the tabletop display WERE the countertop display. The bread basket already looks so classy and charming by itself, and having it bigger allows you to appreciate the details. I really hope the team will consider changing it so both are the same.

Thank you for the feedback I'm not trying to nitpick with the criticism; but I think when you set the tone for "Fine Dining" there's a certain expectation of quality people would like to see, and for me it just fell short.

As a counterpoint, I thought the Mer-mania goal was near-perfect with its coordinated releases, notwithstanding the labeling errors in the goal steps. You had a fantastically thought-out theme with all relevant new items and recipes; two 5-day goals with additional theme-adjacent prizes; a mermaid box on sale during the goal to really flesh out the aesthetic, and rounded out with more mermaid and aquatic items in the recent summer sale. AND, we got an EXTRA table and chair, which matched the ones in the final goal prize so people could spend gems to have matching seating in their restaurant. They called it Mer-mania and they WENT for Mer-mania.

Maybe it was a lightning in a bottle kind of moment, but it would've been lovely to see that kind of enthusiasm and creativity with this goal. It's possible it might increase going forward with the other recipes or complementary 5-day goals and possibly the new July box, but so far it's just feeling a bit flat
