I just got the first individual prize, it's awesome! That is a lot of grape vines! ;) Love the added colour!

I can't make anything square though as the corners don't line up. Anyone else have this issue or is it just my OCD? They are either too far out from the other sides or too far in. I can't seem to make exact corners like other fencing.

So we need 312 total corks and barrels and we are only getting one per collection.
There are a possible ten corks or barrels available from quests. So this still leaves 302 to upgrade to level ten building.
If we manage to collect every three hours to a maximum of six times a day (assuming more than five hours and less than nine hours sleep). That is six corks or barrels a day for 25 days, or 150 items.
Without a massive change to the number of drops as the building levels or quests with ten time more rewards, there is no way players can have a completed building this time around without spending gems.

The cheapest way to spend gems for corks and barrels is to speed up the collection. Collecting six times a day still leaves 152 items needed for level ten. It costs 6 gems to speed up the estate, so that is 912 gems to finish the estate so long as you do it before the quest is over. Buying the corks/barrels will cost a lot more.

So if it's 912 gems minimum plus any time you aren't able to collect every three hours, I would like to know, what will the vineyard estate drop after this event that warrants me spending about 1000 gems?

Previously all other upgraded building were available within the event time without gem expenditure so long as the player was very diligent. This one seems to be way from obtainable without gems

Hm.. so, this is probably is why we got the re-release of the Summer Gazebo :o I was very happy about that, since I did not have it yet (so thanks S8 ! :) ). But I had wondered why they didn't wait with that for june or july or something like that... now it makes perfect sense. Good job S8 ;)

BTW just wondering why Castle Gardens and Magic Garden don't also drop Grapes - it would seem kinda apropriate to get grapes from gardens :D (But I confes, I don't remember what level you needed to get them, so maybe that's why...? )

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for the great event so far. I don't have much time to play nowadays and I didn't make it to the end of the last community event, which made me mad since it was the first time that happened to me. This one seems more easy to accomplish and that is why I am grateful for that.

Random drops ( Corks / Barrels ) are the issue !

3 Corks and ZERO barrels until now since yesterday at the start of event ! And I collected religiously from he Vineyard!

It is how S8 Forces the players hand to spend gems.

But it is about time S8 is notified that it is really driving players to delete this game.

I am one of those unlucky with random drops, and at every event I had to gem my way to upgrade the respective Event building!

Yes I am on iOS! As I said before, I only have 3 Corks nothing else!
Yesterday I collected 4 times and only got 2 corks
Today I got my third Cork That is it ! No barrels! I check my Inventory too :)
Will Edit if I get anything in my next collection due in 50 minutes! Still level one of course !

I am sure the number of Corks/ Barrels increases with each level, just like in all events :) Or it would be impossible to level up without gems!

So, collecting from the vineyard gives one corck or barrel. To fully upgrade the vineyard, you need 156 corcks and empty barrels, that's 312 collections, to say the least.

Decided by 24 days, that's over 13 collections a day... 13x3 = 39 hours... There ain't that many hous in a day...

Seeing as how we can get the prizes from grapes ....is the Estate upgrading considered "optional" and that's why the corks/barrels just aren't dropping?
I've not had a single cork drop in the last 5 collects ( gem speeds) ... I'll never get to level 10 ...regardless of speeding ...unless I outright buy 100+ corks ....yeah not happening ....ugh

btw I think the lev ten vineyard looks amazing but would look better if it was bigger, 4x4, of course then we'd all be freaked out about space, and TL would have to give us free expansions!

That happens to me a lot. I never got a response in the bug section. When I plant cocoa, it looks hilarious with all the sheep or pig heads planted!

Sometimes, for me, force closing or visiting a neighbor helps. Twice I've deleted and reinstalled the app and that helped. (I've tried leaving the app open while I read or do other things, in case it needs to download, but that doesn't seem to fix anything for me.)

"I'm finding that I can't complete my royal vineyards and winery with the current crafting options and some supplies are just not currently available in the market. A couple of ideas for the next update would be things like, but not limited to: sorting table, destemmer/crusher, press, fermentation bins, tanks, oak vats, casks and barrels (we already have the trees, just need crafting option in workshop), reverse osmosis filtration system, bottles, corker, labeler. I understand that many of these items can't be made in the current crafting buildings so maybe as a gem/coin purchase? Oh yeah, we need grape vines of different varieties.....and some expansions to grow them in. Thanks!"

Agreed. I had to read through everything to see if anyone had already answered that. :) grape growing is definitely done in rows. Since they aren't close to matching up, I'm sure S8 designed the pieces to be in rows.

So according to the goal list, it splits off after you upgrade the vineyard to level 2, and I'm guessing the 3-day Ivy goal appears immediately thereafter? I'm leaving tonight and won't have internet access for 2 days, so should I hold off on upgrading the vineyard until I'm back?

If this continues, I'll just be storing my measly little Vineyard non-Estate and hope to reach the final goal for the kitty. This is not being said out of anger, just frustration. I really love the game.

Hoping SW gets a response from TL/S8 and they ramp up the drop rate.

You expressed that perfectly :) ....I too feel similar, Having no issue with spending/buying gems....it's being forced that is the problem! the fastest way to alienate players is when the game balance begins to drastically tip...it's rather slimy and a bit insulting to think we just might not notice/have issue with. Lets hope this is unintentional and can be fixed ...

I just got the first individual prize, it's awesome! That is a lot of grape vines! ;) Love the added colour!

I can't make anything square though as the corners don't line up. Anyone else have this issue or is it just my OCD? They are either too far out from the other sides or too far in. I can't seem to make exact corners like other fencing.

I too have yet to receive any barrels. I am one who has no problem spending gems "at my discretion" but to be forced to spend gems to upgrade because drop rate is poor, I'm not game for that. If this continues, I'll just be storing my measly little Vineyard non-Estate and hope to reach the final goal for the kitty. This is not being said out of anger, just frustration. I really love the game.

Hoping SW gets a response from TL/S8 and they ramp up the drop rate.

Yeah, I have all the barrels I need to upgrade to level 2, but only one cork so far.

I second leaving the vineyard on the board. At the least it will give you the grapes you need, and you'll definitely be able to update it even if you can't reach the top level. Also, it's like the other events where things start out slow but they pick up as you advance.

Thx for the encouragement. I have 5 corks. If only we could trade with each other lol... And yes, I plan to keep the building on the board for the entire event. It's interesting that with regular game play, no gems, no energy crates, etc... just regular game play, I have already reached nearly 400 grapes during the 1st 24 hour period of the game. I don't feel like I will have any problem getting the kitty, just bummed that this vineyard is being stingy with the barrels lol.

My advice, don't store the Vineyard, keep it out, collect from it as much as possible, during the day :)
It does drop Grapes and the higher you level it up, more the grapes go up in numbers.
I got my first Barrel today, so there's still hope for us yet lol :)

I think it would have been great to receive some corks and barrels as a reward from last week's teaser update. Now that would have made sense and I am sure mire people would have done the quests.YES!!!... And would have fallen more in line with getting the masks as rewards back during H'ween. Wooden beams, stone blocks and simple glue in exchange for more labor-intensive resources do not get ANYONE ahead, lol.

I pulled four of my wrought-iron poles out of storage to cap the corners. It's not perfect, but the colors match fairly well so it will do for now.

In lieu of getting an answer back from TL, using gems has NEVER been required to complete an event. Players might choose to do so if time is an issue. Mind you, you may have to have the device attached to your hand full time! ;) events are hard and require a lot of time to complete them. Some players will not finish the event. 4000 grapes is the goal.... Do what you can if you want the kitten.

If completing the event is counted as grapes to get the kitten then I don't disagree it's possible without gems. The question is whether completing the event also means being able to upgrade the vineyard to level 10. Hopefully they will let Sw know the answer.

I think most of us have decided to not do the crops since it IS such a waste of energy. I had 6 grapes drop out of 59 plots of land. I'm not doing it again. ;)

The Ivy split is a one-off goal, the marketplace one actually continues the storyline. If you can't do Ivy goal you are only giving up some coins xp and a barrel.

The adventure only drops 13 grapes for me right now. I understand once the adventure is triggered it drops some amount (I don't know if its multiple or not, someone else will have to provide specifics) of cork and/ or barrel.

What happened is that you were EXTREMELY lucky if you got a grape with every strawberry! Yesterday I harvested 59 strawberries and received 6 grapes. Most people are reporting similar numbers. I'm not planting any more.

While I see barrels when I get one from the vineyard, I don't see corks when they drop. I'm not saying that is your case but making sure you check inventory if it looks like nothing drops. :)

So after Day 1, I have 437 grapes I've just upgraded my vineyard to level 2. And got the first individual prize. Very happy with my progress so far. Trying not to think about barrels and corks (am ill so shouldn't get stressed - doctors orders) but I wouldn't be surprised if TL have a trick up their sleeve and will give some quests to give more barrels and corks. Of course I could be wrong and they'll offer us 2 of each for 4.99 along with 100 energy as a special bundle.

I currently have two empty barrels and one cork. For me I have had a fairly good balance of corks/barrels since the event began. The most I have been unbalanced by was 2 barrels.

When I upgraded to Level 4 the building enlarged and appears to be under construction. Has anyone posted a picture yet? I don't know how to do that.

I have 566 grape clusters, most which I collected from my farmhouses. I haven't read all the messages here. How am I doing compared to everyone else?

Wow, lots happens when I'm sleeping! I got all my questions answered... Here's the post.

These answers are from PikaSquirrel. The bold questions are a summary of what I asked.

1. I gather the android players don't get the daily new market grape trade??
Yes, this daily trade feature is only available on iOS.

2. Can you please advise on whether android players will be able to get the kitten and puppy as a prize for the event
These pets are from an event available to iOS and Android players so everyone will be able to see them. Pets from the Baron's Game Tent are not visible to Android because they do not have this feature.

3. is there a limit to the amount of Town buildings you can have and if so what is the magic number?
The maximum amount of Royal Buildings in the game is 43.
(SW postscript: 40 is the Town Building Limit)

4. Can the event be finished without gems and will cork and barrel rate increase?
Event is set up so players will be able to upgrade their Vineyard Estate to max level without the use of Gems to upgrade it. As they upgrade the building more, more of both Cork and Empty Oak Barrel will drop. So after they reach a higher level, it'll become easier.

5. Reports of a cork or barrel not dropping at all when collecting from the Vineyard Estate.
The Vineyard will always drop at least one Cork or Empty Oak Barrel. I took a quick look and don't see any issues.

* if you do not receive a cork or barrel, please post which level of the Vineyard Estate you are on so I can pass this on.
* the bandits adventure doesn't drop cork or barrels (well at least not for me either!) but it does drop 13 grapes.

These answers are from PikaSquirrel. The bold questions are a summary of what I asked.

1. I gather the android players don't get the daily new market grape trade??
Yes, this daily trade feature is only available on iOS.

2. Can you please advise on whether android players will be able to get the kitten and puppy as a prize for the event
These pets are from an event available to iOS and Android players so everyone will be able to see them. Pets from the Baron's Game Tent are not visible to Android because they do not have this feature.

3. is there a limit to the amount of Town buildings you can have and if so what is the magic number?
The maximum amount of Royal Buildings in the game is 43.
(SW postscript: 40 is the Town Building Limit)

4. Can the event be finished without gems and will cork and barrel rate increase?
Event is set up so players will be able to upgrade their Vineyard Estate to max level without the use of Gems to upgrade it. As they upgrade the building more, more of both Cork and Empty Oak Barrel will drop. So after they reach a higher level, it'll become easier.

5. Reports of a cork or barrel not dropping at all when collecting from the Vineyard Estate.
The Vineyard will always drop at least one Cork or Empty Oak Barrel. I took a quick look and don't see any issues.

Anyone else had luck with parking a monster in a non useful area for the duration of the event. I'm disappointed the monsters don't give grapes. They've always been generous before and it's the few times I'm happy to see them. Except trolls I love fighting trolls! But a particularly annoying dire boar parked itself in my Greselda section. So far my drops have been consistent. I get a barrel and then on the next drop a cork and then a barrel and so forth. Fingers crossed that I'm not jinxing that! Was getting nervous because I was nowhere near the target 160 grapes a day yesterday so built a bunch more farmhouses. Like everyone else the strawberries were just not cutting it. I'm up to 14 farmhouses, might build a few more but I'm almost to 200 grapes so made up yesterday's pretty quickly and still have half the day to collect. I think I'll see how the next couple days go before cluttering up my Kingdom more... lol

Ditto no luck with corks. 7 barrels and 2 corks so still stuck at level 1, very frustrating how uneven the drops are. I can't tell yet if I should be worried about being able to fully upgrade it and finish the quests by the time the event ends...

As others have mentioned, farmhouses seem to be the best for grapes so I'm glad that is an option rather than having to rely on pure rng from strawberries. Now if only some corks would stop dropping!

You have to upgrade the game to get the Baron tent. You get 3 free throws a day, and you will get 3 prizes. But you need 6 items in one day to get the grand prize. Extra throws are 10 gems each. So my pets ended up costing about 100 gems each. Just to let you know. There is a thread devoted to the Baron tent.

So, I've been diligently collecting from all the grape sources and was waiting for my energy to recharge as my level 3 vineyard was getting ready for collection in 2 minutes. I left CS and when returned to my kingdom, I had 2 energy but the vineyard's collection time was reset to the beginning. Is this a new glitch or is it just me?

So to summarize, we have those who are getting a lot more barrels than corks, those that are getting a lot more corks than barrels and those that are getting an equal amount of each. ;) that's about the same thing you could expect if you flip a coin a bunch of times. ;) they can't increase the drop rate of one without affecting the other. Believe me, I know it's frustrating but that's the way games work. It's about the only real challenge in these kind of events other than the time challenge of having to collect the same resource over and over and over again, 4000+ times. At some point everyone may find their luck has reversed and end up with more of the resources they are lacking now than the ones they have a surplus of now. :) it's still early in the event. :) I'm really just hoping to make everyone feel a little bit better until they get the drop they want. ;) good luck! :)

I guess this advice wouldn't be helpful during this frequently.
but lower levels should keep a decent amout of laterns and expansion $ so when its time to make room
its much easier then having to store stuff.
On another note...the strawberries give grapes less frequently..i wouldn't recommend relying on them..its about a 10-1 ratio.
unless you have a huge amount of magic fruit to use up in the exchange for energy there is no point in chasing them in crops.

I should end the day with more than 500 grapes
. Us higher level players will unlocking community prizes for you lower levels while waiting on upgrade
items...so don't worry about that right now. We got you. Lol

I'm happy to report Level 4 is dropping 1 each ...so 1 barrel & 1 cork per/collect .....so it does even out eventually...

They mean just don't fight the monster. Only 1 will show up on screen at a time, so if you leave it alone, just collect around it, you don't have to fight any more. Usually best to do when it shows up somewhere at the edge of your town, only blocking a few things that you don't need right then. For instance I have one parked on top of a couple libraries and my jousting arena. I don't need them right now, and it is easier to leave the boar there than waste energy continually fighting.

If you happen to habe any traps, it is even easier. Just hack the trap in an out of the way spot, and the monster appears there. Then don't fight it for the rest of the event.

I love this event! My little vineyard looks very cute so far. I am having uneven drops for upgrade parts (all barrels and 2 corks for me), but that probability explanation makes sense to me. I'll keep it moving. And I'm level 50, so grapes are no problem. I will keep collecting to the end for the team!

It's just a phrase. We don't get to choose but sometimes the parked space is perfectly out of the way so we can carry on with our collecting.

If you have enough supplies to run one a day, that is fine. Further in the goal chain you have to give the Baron's mom three hearty feasts and then go on that adventure three different times. I don't have hearty feasts saved up right now so want to make sure I have them made for when I need them.

Keep collecting grapes and collect from the vineyard as often as possible. The corks will start falling eventually and you will still be progressing in the meantime. You'll still need all of those barrels and lots more of them. That's all anyone can suggest. :)

How are we supposed to visit Thomas 20 times in 3 days? And Ivy 5 times in 3 days? It's asking a lot, you have to make sure not to miss or delay too much on Ivy's hut. Not sure why they have to put this much pressure on us with this event going on and only allow 3 days.

Now, SERIOUSLY... we need ROOM, EXPANSIONS!!!!

What is the point for us to put all this time and effort to get all the great prizes just to put them in STORAGE because we have no room to show it off??? If this is my kingdom and I am the queen of it I Do declare my kingdom open for construction... Chop those trees down and create some jobs!!!! I have no idea why they refuse to open more space to build on. It's not like if they were selling expansions for gems. Come on guys!!! Let us have some space to make our kingdom looking good! There is plenty of items I want to buy for gems but I have no room to put them so I am not buying anything anymore, I am keeping my 1,056 gems in protest...lol

I got the My Fair Ivy quest pop up yesterday. I was willing to attempt it, but I decided that I am not going to lose sleep over visiting Thomas' house every two hours. One cork is just not worth fragmented sleep three nights in a row!

I won't be making that trade, lol. Those are all pretty valuable resources for my li'l kingdom - I would only rate red petals and fish higher at the moment.

I think the trades are too random for anyone to really keep up with them. Maybe that's just me, though :)

It's actually doable without losing sleep but certainly does take diligence, especially collecting from Old Thomas every 2 hours. 7 collections per day allows time for sleep. I questioned it, too, at first but now down to 4 OT visits and 2 Ivy visits while the timer is still showing 2 days. I know it's something less than 2 full days but still very easily done with the remaining time. It helps if you are able to make the first collection immediately ar the start of the 3 days.

Regarding more expansions.... A week or so ago, S8/TL acknowledged everyone's desire for more spaces so I'm sure they'll be forthcoming sometime in the near future. I'm also sure they weren't going to drop everything they already had/have in the works to work on more expansions.... But they will come :)

Don't use Gems unless you are sure of the result.. if you didn't you *****ed yourself

Opposite for me....it ends in the middle of my vacation. Trying to get all the grapes needed before I leave so I can focus on vacation and not be tied to the iPad.

Right now I'm on Lv. 2 for the vineyard - still need one last oak barrel to upgrade.
My strategy this time is to use the farmhouses to build up my grape total and not rely only on the vineyard, grape press, other buildings. Since the farmhouse recharges in 10 minutes you can collect a lot of grapes if you focus on those collections. I think I have 15 farmhouses right now
Doing this I'm a little over 800 grapes. After I have a couple more upgrades completed for the vineyard I'll start putting a few of farmhouses away and making sure I have enough materials for the later goals. I would suggest trying this if you are having trouble upgrading the vineyard.
The only part of the event that concerns me is getting enough corks and barrels to upgrade to level 10 for the vineyard. I'm wondering if levels 7 or 8 drop more than 2 pieces of either item.

I'm not sure what day I'll finish the grapes (have 1800+) but my plan is similar. Well, I will do the rest of the goals and leave just enough out to accomplish them and continue to upgrade the vineyard but I will quit gathering grapes.

Just a thought, if by next Friday you haven't experienced "grape burnout" or gotten carpal tunnel (lol) it would be nice if you could continued to collect as many grapes as possible to add to the community. It's summer and many people will be going on vacations or spending a lot of time at summer camp/beach/gatherings and won't have the normal time for collecting. So for everyone who can continue once past the personal goals, it would be very helpful.

In the Flower event it was shown that the community totals don't reflect actual community efforts but rather a formula that is designed to go down to the very last hour of the event. There is literally no point in collecting grapes beyond the last prize because you have no effect on the community prizes.

Agreed. Plus anything we add individually, out of literally hundreds of millions or was it over a billion.... Is a tiny, tiny fraction. It wouldn't look good on the company if we miss the goal by a few hundred out of a billion. Lol but back to the beginning.... I've never known one of their community events to not get enough by the end. :)
The only reason I'm going this fast is to get it over with. Lol frankly I'm already burned out on gathering grapes. ;)

It's very random. Personally I wouldn't bother with strawberries. Go with farmhouses which are a guaranteed drop.... ;)

No, that was below normal.. It probably should have been at least 9. (Sheepish grin) like SpiritWind said... Farmhouses are relatively cheap and easy to build if you don't already have a bunch. I have 13 out and it's enough to outpace energy with a guaranteed grape and sometimes 2 grapes.

(placed it near the Royal Chateau - just because it seemed right)

Edit: I can't find info about the upgrade with Builder's Paste and Royal Beams in post 2. Instead you have the same requirements for lev 9 and 10, which does not seem right to me. Hope these pics will help:) Do these pics work for you? I always post them in the same way, it's so strange why they only work sometimes?
