Does anyone know, if the magmalings that spawn from the Prison are supposed to drop tokens? Mine aren't.

They didn't last time if I recall; but did give LB points. Just the main monsters that are always available to spawn should drop tokens.

It seems that every new item in the MRC uses golden nuggets, which are the most scarce and harder to get.

I don't know if this has happened before, but the timing has converged such that there are leaderboards happening concurrently in Castle Story, Dragon Story, and Fantasy Forest Story. Looks like I have a busy week of babysitting games ahead of me. I should just put in for vacation for next week. LOl!

Here's what I could find about what takes mithril to craft, what drops mithril and what doesn't.
There are only 2 items that are guaranteed to drop Mithril on each collection, noted below.

To answer your question though, 'which one is better', the ones that have guaranteed drops will be the best, but if you cannot afford to use that much mithril in one go then craft one that drops it until you have enough. We are also lucky enough to get guaranteed mithril droppers in events as well and the Inventory Guide has a list of those on page 2 under the 'M' entry.

I am by far not done with MRC crafting, as I generally don't earn enough troll token per new RM item, I will not catch-up anytime soon. But I have the initial u-goal #38 Mythic Zoo done, well crafted to the max all of them.
