I have created/summon the shattered tuftkin so the only part left in the goal is to set the trap to receive the gems. Based on ShibuyaCloth's comment below it appears that setting even the 5 gem trap to try for the reward would be a waste of gems. Thanks for the information.

If your goal said the reward is 20 gems I don't see any reasons why you shouldn't get them. Just to be sure to make the screenshot in case you'll need a proof. Usually S8 honors things like this. I can't promise anything obviously.

Re the 20 gem reward for Tough Stuff - if you force close your game you will now see the reward showing in your list of goals with a reward and also on the actually goal screen. I'm going to try it now....

why don't you just summon a tuft kin without spending any gems. If your going to get a reward it will be for 20 gems, wouldn't you?

it's at the moment you set the trap that the 20gems are credited.. not when you craft the tuftkin.

..yes.. even setting the '5 gem' trap works 'at the moment'. the 20gems are credited. I've just done so and gems were credited even if I crafted my Tuftkin days ago. now I have 15gems more.

..but.. make sure the ability of 20gem reward is written on your goal before doing so.

Ha! Don't be! I've been debating since minute 1 of the event however, when the crunch came to make myself choose (cause I was online during a 2 minute break), there was a *lot* of internal angst going on! I am happy with the black/red one and haven't seen the other one in the market as I keep forgetting to look! Tell me what you chose when you finally hit that Fuse button

So I decided on the blue - hit the fuse button quickly to avoid a change of mind, only to be confronted with the final confirmation button ... but held strong . Decided on blue as I think I will put it in my winter area.

And nice one with the 5 gems for 20 gem return . I now have enough to get the penguin, so a double bonus.

Congrats! Woohoo for penguin and woohoo for Team Lumi! (oooh, I might use that for the poll!) Ah, 2nd button syndrome, it made me pause too.

I put together my winter section tonight just for fun with all the Christmas trees, presents, elves and the ice sculpture fountain from previous years and Neva is front and centre. She looks good next to the huge christmas tree I think Lumi would also go well in your Winter area. It was so good to put away pond city and cow city. I've just got a few faerie's fire to find and wait for a few more yellow stones. Overall, I've enjoyed this event so far (despite the wood carnage going on).

I am also just finding faerie fire and waiting on Ivy (still need fur though). The fire will prove to be my Achilles heel as I just chopped 8 trees and only received 18 fire. I'm not able to log on every 2 hours (including this weekend) so it's going to be a nail biter. Otherwise (for me) the drop rate on stones was decent.
