Work Gloves and Welcome Mat

Hi all,
What is the use/purpose of Work Gloves and Welcome Mat?
I've got soe but I've no idea what to do with them.

In short, you may need them if you are constructing current or future items. Just store them. Don't try to place them other than in connection with a construction item - you can't put them back into your Inventory apparently.
