I bought the lantern too and placed them on the wall near the door. And one of the lantern got cut into half like the picture above. LOL! Though I didn't sell them away as I do like my new lantern. They released a similar but smaller paper lantern last year which cost 20,000 coins but it didn't have this cut into half issue. So it could be due to the size of the lantern.
