Usually, you'll get better results if the difference of level isn't too high. So for instance, when there's a level 1 opponent, don't use a level 15 fighter opt for a lvl 6 or 7 or lower. Plus, I find using the type chart to be pretty helpful too. Good luck on your future battles. Hope these tips help you later on~

Being relatively new (~ a year of DS) and now tourney competitive... I've been hoping for more champions - particularly new hybrids with lesser food requirements (i.e., ~350k apples vs. >700k) so this makes this tourney an exciting one for me! I think at least half of tourneys should be for champs... I have little interest in going through 20-40 rounds to "win" a Jungle dragon or Old Hermit.

I'm glad that someone is happy with this tourney, and all the champ prizes. I just can't help but feel it devalues champions to have them as prizes so often.

Believe it or not I took a Fungi up to level 15 by mistake and I must say he is not too bad in the arena at all, pleasantly surprised!

Fungi has been a good little fighter for me too, even at level 13. If I ever have enough food after feeding all my diamonds and champs up, I'll definitely level him up to 15.

It's interesting how many of the first Dragon prizes from Tales are great in the area. Jack is still one of my all-time favourite Tales dragons, he got levelled up to 15 pretty quickly after proving his worth in the arena.

I think we need to sticky this to the first post of each tourney, with the battle type chart. It seems to come up every single tourney - players trying to bludgeon babies with high level champions, diamonds, etc, and then getting frustrated when they keep losing. It's well established that this strategy DOES NOT WORK! Adding this tip to the first post might save less experienced players a lot of frustration...
