It just occurred to me, maybe they're not meant to be characters...

...they're award statuettes, like Oscar. Thus the size disparity.

Yes, the SCALE on the open air theater is totally off, especially viewed next to the characters in the Red Carpet display. The people on the red carpet may be giants in their industry, but not literally. this item should be 4x4 IMO. It's at the end of an expensive and hard to complete goal. Any floor item that costs 80 gems should be big. My opinion FWIW.

Well that is where I usually sit, but I thought in my own restaurant I would get to sit closer LOL

I like smaller things because I have smaller spaces. But I do think there should be some kind of scale to this game. Some things are gigando and some are small. The lack of scale makes it hard to put things together.
