Unless you have lots of extra energy sources you probably only need 3-4 horses. Fighting 5-6 glimmer golums per day was about the best I could manage in my first monster hunt and still fight enough of the special monster to get enough tokens to craft it. That's assuming the upcoming hunt works the same way as earlier ones. If it's like the last one and the special monster tokens are only for the leaderboard, I probably wouldn't bother with collecting them at all.

Also the daily goal which requires you to fight fangbeasts is often not worth completing. Don't spend too much energy on trying to get fangbeasts to spawn (the forums are always full of posts about how they've all disappeared during hunts) - that energy is better spent on fighting glimmer golems.

Would love a monster hunt...will be hoping it is NOT tied to LB. Also, 7/23 start? That is Monday (tomorrow)...quite unusual. Was actually looking forward to a few days “off” so I could focus on other unfinished business (Tidegate & Sabrina) and give my overworked Ali’s some time to reset! I will be hurting for energy sources if this starts tomorrow!

Agree with the hope it’s not a leaderboard event. I don’t mind buying the value packs now and then, but not if it doesn’t get me the prize I want.

*get horses out so they recharge
*place monster statues that give tokens
*dead tree no problem, we can buy as needed
*place all buildings/pets/animals that could spawn other monsters
*a pond

anything else?
Oh!.. would be good idea to have a direboar ready to battle, but remember to do him for FIRST though

I'm really excited about the this Monster Hunt. Since I started playing I have only participated in one and I didn't really got it.. so now I would mostly concentrate on getting those gold tokens.

Well! Off to a lousy start. Event hadn’t started. Collected from Armed Flyger. Got an expansion permit. Before I could use it game reset. Collected again and got armor, then new event started. Have collected from every cow and pig, no lions. We do have a value pack. Traps, etc.

Well...who didn't see that coming. A another leader board disguised as a monster hunt. SMH! I don't know why S8 keeps doing this when we've all said (at least most of us here on the forum) we don't like/want leader boards.

I'm going on vacation starting Thursday so I may battle a few monsters til then but whoever's in my group won't need to worry about me playing much!
