Smoothie mixer pics make no sense

The smoothie mixer pictures of the drinks look entirely different to the pictures of when you need a certain smoothie for a recipe.
For instance the one for pineapple upside down cake has a yellow (pineapple I assume) looking smoothie but go to the mixer and it's entirely differen looking. And I seemed to have picked the wrong one.

I believe you are referring to the Fruit Juices. While the Juices are not items you can specifically make, they are rewards from making Smoothies. For your Upside Down Pineapple Cake example, the first ingredient is Pineapple Juice which is earned from making the Pineapple Colada Smoothie. Hope this helps!
