    Discovering Adamant

    *BOOOM*

IVY: Ack, ack... Whooooo, that was bad!
Lady G: Oh dearie, what were you trying to brew?
IVY: I'm trying to see if I can create Adamant.
We used up all of our Adamant supply to craft the legendary swords.
    Lady G: What for?
IVY: Uhh... (to fight off your Glimmer Golems?)
Lady G: What was that, dearie?
    IVY: Nothing.
Lady G: Well, with two witches combined surely we can come up with the recipe!
    IVY: I'm not a witch!

(Lady G>Not a witch? Hahaha! Yes, yes. Of course.
A good witch wouldn't brew this many explosions!
Anywho, let's try mixing some things together and see what we get.
Adamant Alchemy. Lady G>It seems we created a poisonous apple.)

Lady G: Really dear? A poison apple? That was a painful trip down memory lane.
IVY: It was a joke! ... Well, let's think about it for a second.
Adamant is hot to the touch, a material found deep in the mines, and very strong.
Lady G: Ah, yes, yes. We should look at the unique qualities of Adamant and
then try to replicate it. What shall we experiment with?
    IVY: What's hot?
    Lady G: Hot Peppers!
    IVY: Rat Tails!
Lady G: Fire... dearie, did you say Rat Tails?
IVY: Sure did! Have you ever eaten one? They're spicy!
    Lady G: ...

(Lady G>Red Fish are known for their spicy flavor.
I wonder if we can fish one out from our pond?
    A Witch And A Half Lady G>I don't want to know, but I must ask. . .)

IVY: Don't tell anyone! That's the secret recipe in my hot sauce!
If it's good, why does it matter?!
Lady G: I suppose that is true.
IVY: Focus! What should we try next?
Lady G: Ahem! Don't you hustle me, young lady!
IVY: Sorry, I just got a little excited.
Lady G: Adamant DOES come from deep in the mines...
Perhaps we combine all the things found in a mine?
IVY: Alright! Let's get to it!

(ivy>I'm happy to have you here, Lady Greselda.
It's always fun to brew things with someone.
So, shall we visit the magic forge to melt things?
    What Does It Matter?
ivy>Ack, ack. We Created Mithril! But this recipe is too volatile to be worth it.)

IVY: Adamant IS very rare. And it COULD be said to be a mythical property...
    Lady G: Meaning... ?
IVY: Maybe we should mix all the things mythical and see what happens
Lady G: Manticore Whiskers and Dragon Scales?
    IVY: Yup.
Lady G: You are aware, dear, that these are very rare?

(ivy>Not to worry! It is for a good cause after all.
I'm sure no one will mind us experimenting with some.
    So Far Fetched.
ivy>Huh, did we just discover something else entirely?)

IVY: I think we just discovered something new!
Lady G: That glow is... mythical indeed! What shall we name it?
    IVY: Mythic Essence!
Lady G: Makes sense. I like it.
IVY: We didn't discover Adamant, but this is just as incredible!
Told you the ingredients wouldn't go to waste!

(Lady G>Dear, I believe that was all luck.
Imagine our sadness if nothing came of our experiment.
Any-who, let's spread the word of this lucky discover.
    Tell One, Tell All.
Lady G>And just like that, this discovery will be heard from all over! )

IVY: Glimmer Golems are tough, yeah?
Lady G: Indeed. What are you thinking of, dearie?
    You ... aren't proposing...
IVY: No, no, no. Of course not! ...
Lady G: ... Well, mixing Glimmer Shards and Glimmer Fragments is an option.
IVY: Let's use that... and Mithril. Maybe the Glimmer properties will enchant the Mithril!

(ivy> I've never seen Glimmer Fragments and Shards in action before!
I can't wait to see what this will create!
Just Discovered Fire ivy>We did it! We've found the Adamant Alchemy!)

    Griselda's Dark Garden

    [ Ruler greets The Baron]

Ruler: Oh bother, you're back again? Isn't it too soon for another inspection?
The Baron: Ever so eager to greet me! Be a dear and wait until the knights announce me first, hmm?

All bend the knee to King Baron Garland Pfeffernot, here to grace the common folk!

Ruler: Blah, blah, blah, are you done yet?
The Baron: Perhaps. How are you, friend?
Ruler: Here we go again with "friend". What do you want this time?
The Baron: Somebody has a sore behind. You know I can't be friendly ALL the time. I'll lose respect.
Ruler: Then that's not being a TRUE friend at all.
The Baron: Would someone that's NOT a true friend exempt you from this month's taxation?
Ruler: You shouldn't be taxing us at all!
The Baron: I know, I know, you don't have to cry tears of joy over this generous pardon.
What's that? What can you do to thank me? Oh, but if you INSIST... heheheh?
    Ruler: ...
I want a garden. Built to PERFECTION! *snaps*
    Fetch the landscape design scrolls.
Ruler: You didn't have to go around in this big circle to tell us what to do.

(Baron: Yes. No. Maybe so? Is this what they say during the month of love? Why are you still here?
The garden is quite complicated, you know. I need it before the grand day of love. So GET to it!
    1. A Friendly Pardon
*build royal maze garden- why does he have to build it here?*
Baron: Marvellous! Marvellous! Your soil is quite rich...)

Ruler: Why do we have to build your stupid garden in MY Kingdom?
The Baron: Heheheh, I can taste how everything is going to unfurl...
Ruler: What exactly is going to *unfurl* ?
The Baron: That's for the King to know, and commoners to serve dutifully.
I am going to take a nap. I hope everything is in order when I return from slumber.

Ruler: This all feels very off. He's not mean and he's not nice either?
IVY: Oooh, maybe we should spy on him.
OT: Oh dear... stalking a King is treason indeed!
IVY: Oh come on. It'll be fun. Besides... something tells me he's not going to bed.

    [after some time]

Ruler(disguised as mysterious Knight) : Did you give me a brainwash potion?
Because I'm doing silly stuff with you again.
IVY: You look great! With our disguises on he won't recognize us.
    *Following The Baron around town*
Ruler: You were right, he's just bumming around the market.
    IVY: Quick duck!

(IVY: Whoo, I don't think he saw us. But really, did you make any sense of his actions?
He's visiting a ton of gift shops... ? WAIT! Do you think... he might be... IN LOVE?
    2. Swiftly Stalking Royalty *Is he sniffing roses? He's looking at rings? Why is he in the poetry section?
Expensive red wine tasting?* IVY: Is it just me, or is there a spring in his steps?)

Ruler (still in disguise) This is pointless. I'm going to go up and ask him.
IVY: Don't! He'll know we've been following him!
Ruler: It's better than us snooping around making up theories!

Ruler: (no disguise) Baron! I thought you were going to take a nap?
The Baron: Why so combative? I can change my mind about things.
Ruler: Then will you change your mind about telling me what this garden is all about?
The Baron: I suppose. You can't stop my plans anyways.
    I'm announcing a Queen.
    OT: *gasp*
IVY: Hahahaha, who would want to marry you??
The Baron: Who WOULDN?T want to marry me? I have everything! Gold, good looks, and a crown.
Ruler: Well you got ONE out of three...
The Baron: Now that you know my plans, won't you help me with the preparations?
I want an over the top garden party as the backdrop to my proposal.
What a grand gesture this would be! I am a genius!

(IVY> I don't know what to say. How much more delusional can this guy be?!
I don't know about you but I want to help him, just so I can see who this UNLUCKY lady is.
    3. Garden Ceremony IVY> Ready, ready? This is going to be EPIC! )

IVY: whispering (Psst, ready? I can't wait to see who this lady is.)
OT: (Miss Ivy this is not a show! Let's try to be merry.)

SILENCE! The King of the Glimmerlands has something to announce.
Hold your tongue or I will...

The Baron: ENOUGH! None of that talk on my joyous day! AHEM!
Welcome to the Royal Maze Garden! You're probably wondering why I built this garden.
Well, I'm not sure where to begin, but it represents my journey... for love.

Ruler: (Do you think this lady might be Sabina?)
IVY: (I never thought it might be one of us... Uh oh, what do we do?)

The Baron: Like this maze, I have been lost navigating life. But lucky for me, I found my way and--

*crowd yells* GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!

The Baron: Ugh. Peasants. You wouldn't understand my life anyways.
In simpleton terms, I am announcing my Queen.
She is a beautiful and magical woman living in your Kingdom. Wasting away!
She deserves to be by my side as my woman!
So I am here to ask for her hand.
    So here it is...

    IVY: (pouting) ...
    Sabina: (downcast) ...

The Baron: Lady Greselda, will you marry me?

    IVY: Whaaaaa?!!!
    OT: Oh dear...
    Thurston: Steed of the heavens!
Sabina: Phew, I'm glad it wasn't me!

    [spotlight on Lady Greselda]

Lady G: What a buffoon. I decline your proposal.

(Baron> EXCUSE ME? NOBODY REJECTS ME! Ahem! I. Must. Not. Get. Upset. Errm!
Lady Greselda, what must I do to have a powerful lady like yourself as my other half?
    4. The Unlucky Lady *He's heading to Lady Greselda's Castle!*
Baron> OPEN UP, WITCH! Errm! I mean open up, my sweet! )

Ruler: Lady Greselda, we didn't know when we were building him the garden...
Lady G: It's quite alright dear, you didn't know the degree of your foolishness.
    Unlike this buffoon here.

The Baron: Buffoon?! Surely you are not speaking of me.
Lady G: You. Everything about you us utterly unacceptable. You make for a poor mate.
You have no talent in magic whatsoever.
You're a silly man that wears feathers and bows on his person.
And don't get me started on your fluffy, pleated collar! Do you have fleas?

Ivy standing off to the side: BURN!

The Baron: I... I... I have NEVER been insulted by a woman like this before!
Who do you think you are to speak to a King like this. Have YOU seen a MIRROR lately?!
Hmp! I only proposed to you because my Royal Council gave me some wise words!
"If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, you should marry an ugly wife!"

    Lady G: ...

The Baron: Hah! How do you like a taste of your own poisonous words?
But I am a GRACIOUS King. I forgive your tongue and will allow you to think this through.
    Don't make me upset!

Ruler: Lady Greselda, you don't have to marry anyone.
Lady G: Hmm... but if I marry him this Tiara will have more weight to it...
    Ruler: ...
    Lady G: A joke, dear, a joke.

Lady G: This garden is appalling... I'm going to fix it to my liking. He did gift it to me after all.

(Lady G> Do you know anything about the Dark Plants? They're my favorite!
Now I finally have and place AND excuse to raise some. Dangerous... Not at all!
I will show you how to grow some if you're interested in learning.
    5. If You Want to Be Happy
Lady G> Have I ever given you reason to doubt me? )

Ruler: These plants... do not look safe at all...
IVY: This is so awesome. I wonder if Belladonna knows about these plants?
Lady G: Perhaps your sister will appreciate some of these babies as gifts.

[Lady Greselda and Ivy chatter away]

Sabina: You're going to say something, right? These plants are scary...
Ruler: Maybe this is her way of coping after The Baron's proposal.
Sabina: But what if the plants take over our Kingdom?!
Thurston: Aye, my princess! I will always be here to protect thee!
Sabina: Hearing those words made my heart lighter. Thank you, sweet knight.
Thurston: No need for formalities, my princess. I will always save thee after the Ruler.
Ruler: Thurston, I think you're making Sabina feel worse...

Lady G: Ahem. Are you dearies listening?
Ruler: Yes! Uhh... you wanted something moved...?
Lady G: Perhaps a Glimmer Trap to eat out the wax in your ears will enhance your hearing.

Lady G: Once there, I will use my magic to change the garden to MY liking. Questions?

(Sabina> If this helps Lady Greselda feel better... I guess we should give it to her.
I hope her magic is enough to contain it...
*I read in my fairy tales that Dark Plants can quickly grow to take over ANY surface.*
    6. Coping Mechanism I wonder what it will look like...
Sabina> Ahhh! This garden does not belong to a lady!)

Thurston: Stand back, my liege! These vile plants are plotting...
Lady G: Put that away, you--
    Ruler: Stop!
Lady G: Thank you. Now? what should I rename this garden to?
    How about, Greselda's Precious Garden?
IVY: Sound as great as it looks! I like it!
Sabina: There is no beauty in plants that could eat you whole!
Ruler: Let's try and accept each other's vision of beauty.
(to Lady G) So these plants won't try to take over the Kingdom, right?
Lady G: Of course not... they obey me after all.
    Ruler: ...
Lady G: Why is everyone looking at me like that?
Ruler: Nothing... we just-- We're rebuilding trust, remember?
Lady G: With eyes like that, how can anyone forget, dear?
Don't worry, these plants will not act out. Just don't bother them and you'll be fine.
Come, have a tour with me. You might just discover that you enjoy its presence.
Ruler: Ok, let's go on the tour, everyone...
It's not fair to be fearful of what you don't understand.

(Thurston> Stay behind me, my liege! These vile plants can't sink their teeth into my shiny armor!
If one simply bothers thee, call out my name, and my Excalibam will strike at once!.
    7. Griselda's Beautiful Dark Garden I guess we're safe with Greselda leading...
Thurston> Zounds and gadzooks! These are mean!)

The Baron: What... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY MAGNIFICENT GARDEN?
Lady G: Your garden? I recall it being GIFTED. To ME.
The Baron: The center fountain made of GOLD! Ripped out and replaced with a monstrous plant?!!
Lady G: Monster?! Hahaha, the only monster around here is you.
The Baron: You CAN'T just do as you please! You RUINED my proposal!
Lady G: Good. Now you can get it through your puny brain that I am NEVER going to
    say I Do.

    Ruler: whispering (Do I intervene?)
IVY: (No, let it go on. This is great!)

The Baron: You don't know a good thing when you see it. I blame the Emotion Potion they gave you.
Lady G: What's wrong with the garden the way it is now?
You pranced in here like you knew me!
I would NEVER be caught DEAD in that garden you built! It's not even my style.

The Baron: So be it. If you can't appreciate my gesture, then that's YOUR problem.
(Why do I feel more attracted to her than ever... ? Could it be her cruel personality?)

Lady G: Why are you looking at me like that?
The Baron: Since you DESTROYED my gift. I'm going to give you a chance to make it up to me.

(Baron> That gold fountain was constructed out of love. Believe me or not, that's not my concern.
Since you ripped it out like you did my heart, I'm going to go King on you.
You have 24 hours to purchase the fountain at a special rate.)
    8. What Is This Feeling? *You don't have to make this purchase!

    Pet Skunkupine

    ===*===
    Royal Proclamation!
    The Friendly Skunkupine
Ivy has always wanted a pet Skunkupine.
Complete the latest quest line to see what
    You can do for her!

    ===*===

Ivy: Ever wonder what it would be like to have a pet Skunkupine?
Ruler: Nope... but I'm sure you have.
Ivy: Sure do! All the time! But it's a bummer they're so aggressive...
A girl can't cuddle something that could claw her face!
Ruler: But you work with potions all day... that often explode.
Ivy: That's nothing compared to a Skunkupine. Have you seen their claws?!
Ruler: Sharp and dangerous. One ripped through my leather tunic once.
Ivy: I wonder if we can find a friendly one.
Ruler: You didn't hear anything I just said, huh?

(ivy>Not really. I got a one track mind when I'm really into something.
Come on, help me find a friendly Skunkupine! I can't fight one off if
I run into a meanie. Let's check our Crops and Flowers.
A Friendly Skunkupine ivy>Oh... a baby Skunkupine without a mommy...)

Ivy: A baby Skunkupine! But where is the mommy?
    Skunkupines always guard their young.
Ruler: I think this Skunkupine is without a family because of me?
Ivy: But look, it's a different color. Maybe it was abandoned for being different.
Ruler: Maybe... either way, I still feel bad this baby is without a family.
Ivy: If you're feeling guilty... we should take this little one home?
Ruler: I see what you did there.

(ivy>What? It works out for both of us! I'll get a pet, and you can clear your conscience!
Wait, what do you mean I can't keep it... I guess my Skunku-pies would scare it?
Really Didn't Mean To ivy>No on wants to take this little cutie in...)

Ivy: Since nobody wants to take this cutie in, let me! C'mon!
Ruler: No way! You'll scare the poor thing.
Maybe if we offer a coin reward someone will help us.
Ivy: Wait, why don't you just take him in?
Ruler: I'm not confident I'll do a good job. I've never raised anything before.

(ivy>Sound fair enough. Better to have this baby around structure and foundation in its early years.
How Can You Be So Heartless? *any takers?* ivy>Nada! C'mon, why is everyone so heartless?)

OT: Dear Ruler, I'm not a heartless old man! I just simply cannot champion this task.
I house far too many books. I'm afraid a young Skunkupine might damage them...
Ruler: It's ok, Old Thomas. I understand.
Thurston: Ah, my liege! Task me! A loyal knight like me will conquer any problem you don't want to.!
Ruler: (Doh! I was hoping he wouldn't ask. But I can't say no now... that would break his heart... )
    Ok. Thank you, Thurston.

(ivy>I think they'll be fine. Thurston is a trusty knight... ...
Ok, we should go over there every few hours or so to see how he's doing.
A Thurston Foundation *how's it going* ivy>He looks... dehydrated.)

Ruler: Thurston.. Have you been feeding the baby Skunkupine?
Thurston: Such a foul beast deserves not food.
Ivy: Newsflash! We're trying to raise this Skunkupine as our own!
Thurston: My sovereign, this is a dangerous task! Don't let the recolor magic fool you!
Ruler: This baby Skunkupine is without a family. We should give it a place in our Kingdom.
We welcome everyone, no matter how different they are.
    Thurston: As my liege commands.

(ivy>Whoo hoo! Glad we are all on-board now.
Let's supply Thurston with all the things he needs to care for a baby Skunkupine.
Daddy Thurston ivy>D'aww isn't that adorable.)

Thurston: Ahhh! Foul beast! You stop that right this instant!
Ivy: Hey, who are you calling a foul beast? Aww... come here, baby.
He's just being a big grouch.
Thurston: A color change can't pull the wool over my eyes!
It's just as foul as a regular Skunkupine!
It ruined all of my armor, made my room smelly, and destroyed my yard!
Ivy: Oh he just needs some obedience training is all.
Don't you? Oooh you're so cute *muah muah muah*
    Thurston: ...
(ivy>If we're going to start obedience training, we'll need a leash.
Skunkupines are known for their sharp claws and teeth. Our leash must be super strong!
Obedience Training ivy>Let the training begin!)

Thurston: Gadzooks and zounds! The foul beast is gone!
It ate through the leash like sorcery! What do I do? The Ruler will be most displeased...
    [Hours later]
    Ivy: Hello? Anyone home?
    Thurston: No! Go away!
Ivy: ... Thurston, open up. I know you're in there.
    [Thurston opens the door]
    Thurston: Ivy.
    Ivy: Thurston.
    Thurston: ...
Ivy: Why are you acting so weird? Where's the baby Skunkupine?
    Thurston: Here it is.
Ivy: Umm... that's just a bunch of towels rolled up to look like
    a Skunkupine. Thurston...?
Thurston: I lost the beast! Please don't tell the Ruler I have failed the Ruler!
Ivy: Don't be so dramatic! Get it together!
Thurston: FAILURE! Rule 928 Of The Knight's Code states: "All failures must--
Ivy: THURSTON! If you don't get it together, I'm going to TELL the Ruler.
Thurston: Please don't! I will do anything you say!
Ivy: That's more like it. Now help me find the runaway!

(ivy>Now think! If you were a Skunkupine, where would you be?
Gnawed Out *check wheat, flowers, trees* ivy>There you are, my precious!)

    Thurston: Zounds! There's the monster!
    Ivy: Poor baby, you're hurt.
    [Back at Thurston's Fort]
    Ivy: He's finally asleep.
So it turns out the other Skunkupines in the wild attacked him.
Thurston: Skunk tongue! Are you a Skunkupine whisperer?!
Ivy: No, it's pretty obvious what happened.
His coat of fur is a different color, AND he's been around humans.
Reminds me of when I was chased out for being different too...
Thurston: You're safe here! The Ruler has a heart as clear as the great Knight Wren's sword, Oathkeeper.
Ivy: If you get that, then why can't you accept the Skunkupine?
Thurston: But... but... it's a beast!
    Ivy: Beast, Shmeast!

    (ivy>Thurston can be so stubborn.
It's going to take some time before ANYONE can talk some sense into him.
I don't have a pre-made ointment for our baby Skunkupine.
Let's ask our neighbors if they can spare us a bit.
You Can't Sit With Us *ask for Ointment* ivy>Sharing is caring!)

Ivy: Come on, please? It'll make you feel better.
Thurston: Miss Ivy, I don't think the little beast wants the ointment.
IVY: Can you stop calling him that? You're making him sad
    Thurston: Errm...
IVY: I remember when I was a little sapling my sister Belladonna would trick me
into taking medicine when I was sick by masking it with loads of sugar.

(ivy>He's gonna get a sugar rush, so be ready for that!
A Spoonful of Syrup *give syrup, strawberries, magic fruit* ivy>See, isn't that delicious?

    Ruler: How's everyone doing?
    Thurston: Errm... Uhh...
IVY: We lost the little booger but he's back home safe and sound now.
    Ruler: What happened?
IVY: I realized as much as I would love to keep him, Skunkupines are meant to live freely outdoors.
Ruler: Won't he just run away if we let him out?
    Thurston: *cough cough*
IVY: Hahaha... you don't have to worry about that.
Ruler: What's wrong Thurston? You've been acting weird.
Thurston: Nothing, my liege! I just choked on my saliva is all! (Thank you, Miss Ivy.)
    IVY: (No worries.)
Ruler: (I feel like I'm missing something.)

(ivy>Let's have a small party and play with... oh. We never named him.
How about? Pepe le Skunkupine? Young, Wild, and Free
*Let's teach him to Rollover!* ivy>What trick should we teach next? Play dead?

Pepe le Skunkupine- A cute and friendly Skunkupine.
Pet it to see what items it found for you!

    FAEIRE QUEST PART 1

    [at Ivy's Hut]
Sabina: Ivy! Let that poor Faerie Go!
Ivy: But I need her to sprinkle her sparkly magic dust over my cauldron!
    My recipe calls for it!
Sabina: Must we be so cruel as to lock them up in jars?
Why can't we just ask the kind Faerie to help us?
Ivy: Because the moment we let her out of there she'll fly away!
    Sabina: Gee, wonder why . . .

Ivy: Because the moment we let her out of there she'll fly away!
    Sabina: Gee, wonder why . . .

[you overhear an argument over at Ivy's Hut]
Ruler: That doesn't sound good. Let's go see what's going on at Ivy's Hut.

(Sabina> Faeries flee the moment they see us because we've been locking them up in jars!
    1. That's Faerie Cruel (Sabina> Say no to Faerie Cruelty! )

    [ruler arrives at Ivy's Hut]
Sabina: There you are! Come now, tell Ivy she's being cruel!
Ruler: I hear both sides, but I'm sure there's a solution that'll make everyone happy.
Sabina: Well at the very least please make Ivy release *some* of these Faeries!
Ivy: Fine, I'll compromise. I'll let you have half of the Faeries I captured until we find a solution.
    Ruler: Thank you, Ivy.

(Ivy> What are you gonna do with them? I hope you don't free them? they're very hard to capture!
    2. Ivy's Compromise Ivy> Oh, I think they're trying to talk to us. )

[Ruler speaks to faerie in a jar]

Ruler: Hello, I'm the ruler of this Kingdom. Nice to meet you
    Faerie: *muffle muffle *
Ruler: If I let you out, will you promise to not run away? We just want to talk.

    Faerie: *muffle muffle *

(Sabina> Oh goodie, we're releasing them! Hello, pretty Faerie! We won't
hurt you or force you to give us your sparkly Faerie dust. 3. Don't Be Afraid
(Sabina> no, no, no, come back! )

[Faerie -sticks out tongue and blows a raspberry]
Ruler: Wait! Come back! Meh, she's gone.
Ivy: Hah, I told you so!
Sabina: Don't be disheartened! Let's free another Faerie.
    Maybe this one will stay.
Ruler: Ok, let's try this again.
Ivy: Uh huh, I'm gonna head back home and eat a Skunku- pie.
Ruler: We're going to free you, but please don't fly away when we do. We just want to talk.
    Faerie: *muffle muffle

(Sabina>I have a good feeling about this one! Well, go on, open the jar!

Ruler: Good idea, Thurston! But what do Faeries like to eat?
Sabina: Sweets! All Faeries love sweet things, I know so!
Ruler: Alright. Let's give it a go.

(Sabina> I'm getting a sugar rush just thinking of all the desserts we can prepare for our Faerie friends!
    5. Sweet Bribe
(Sabina to released Faerie: Won't you have a bite? We can wait until you're full.

Ruler: Please don't go. We just want to talk.
Faerie: And why should I listen to you?
Ruler: Umm. . . because we gave you sweets?
Faerie: So did the last human, and then we ended up in jars!
Ruler: But we're different, we're letting you go.
Faerie: I suppose. Very well. What d'ya want?

Ruler: We would like to trade you things in exchange for your magic.
Faerie: Hah! What can you possibly offer us?! Our Plume Queen provides us with everything.
    Ruler: I don't know . . .
Faerie: Tell ya what. I'll return to the Blush Plume and let my sisters know.
If the Plume Queen graces your request, I'll return with our demands. How's that sound?
Ruler: I can't agree or disagree. We hope you return soon.

(Old Thomas> Faeries sure are tough to please. I wonder if she'll come back. . )
    6. Who is The Plume Queen? (OT> Ah, the history of the Glimmerwood? )

    [Ruler speaking with Old Thomas]

Ruler: Soo. . . The Glimmerwood used to belong to the Trolls and Faeries?
OT: Yes, indeed! Before the humans arrived, Trolls, Faeries and others inhabited the woods.
They found a way to share the land through peaceful negotiation.
When the humans arrive, it complicated matters.. as the land was being split further.
The old King was.. well, he wasn't one to share and resolve problems through peaceful means.
Ruler: I feel heavy.. I'm no better than the previous Kings..
Thurston: Aye, my liege.. I feel shame as well.. for the Faeries
But the Trolls. Aye, do not sorrow thy heart for the Trolls!
Sabina: Cheer up! Even the greatest heroes fall.
Besides, it's never too late to redeem yourself!

(OT> You truly are a fine ruler. Shall we construct a draft of new rules?
Goals? Plans, perhaps? This must be written with special parchment and ink and bounded with magic! )
    7. Write the Wrongs (OT> Ready to write when you are )

Ruler: How do we feel about this treaty?
OT: It's a good step forward. We want to make amends and want to be on friendlier terms.
Ruler: I'm glad that's clear.. so, how do we call the Faeries?
Sabina: In my stories, the Faeries can be found basking in the sunny Magic Garden, but
they don't frequent the gardens anymore.. that's where Faeries go to get captured.
    Ivy: Don't look at me!
Ruler: Is there another way to call them?
Sabina: If the stories are true, there IS another way. Faeries attract to fragrant flowers.
If we can collect a large amount and place them at the Magic Garden, they'll surely come!

(Sabina> So we'll need some white, red, blue, purple, and orange petals.
Some glimmer dust too, for good measure. 8. Calling All Faeries
(Sabina> The sweet scent will call them. Let's wait for their arrival, shall we? )

    [at the Magic Garden]
Sabina: Now we wait for one to come.
Ivy: This is handy knowledge! Thanks for showing me this!
Sabina: IVY! I thought you were turning over a new leaf!
OT: Ohoho, that was a splendid play on words, Princess Sabina!
    Sabina: I'm being serous!
    Ruler: Look! There's a Faerie!

[2 faeries arrive: Ooh, what a gorgeous bed of petals. I could use a nap?
Pay attention, Lila! We're here on a mission for the Plume Queen!]

    Ruler: Hi there.
Faerie: Ahh! You almost made me spill my faerie dust!
Ruler: Sorry about that? I didn't mean to scare you.
Faerie: Scared? Now where did you get that idea?
Any who, we're here to speak to the Ruler of *this* Kingdom
    Ruler: That would be me.
But, before we hear you out, we have something for you. A treaty.
Faerie: The last treaty we saw tried to hoodwink us! Surely, this can't be any different.
Ruler: It is, I promise you that!
Faerie: You seem different. Alrighty. I will take this back to our Plume Queen.
Oh, and the sister you freed, she has a message for you.
We are interested in forming a friendship with you. To start, we propose a friendly trade.

(Ivy> How about that! We're truly writing history!
I think the Faeries will appreciate a trade of human things.
Let's trade them things that are unique to us. 9. Foreign Objects
(Ivy> I wonder what they have in store for us? )

Ruler: Ok, that's everything. Let's trade at the Magic Garden.
Sabina: Wait for me! My dress is quite heavy!
Thurston: Aye, my Princess! I shall lend you my arm.
Ruler: Nothing to do but wait I suppose. I'm gonna explore the garden until they arrive

(Thurston> Aye, my liege, while you explore I shall keep everyone safe from the Trolls. )
    10. Trust Trade (Thurston> Huzzah! My liege, the Faeries have arrived! )

Ruler: I'm not sure if we met.. but, hi again.
Faerie: My name is Azalea. Council to the Plume Queen. And these are my sisters.
Ruler: Nice to meet you, Azalea.
Faerie Azalea: Pleasure. I'm sure my sisters have informed you of a friendly trade?
Ruler: Yes, we brought along some things to trade you.
Faerie Azalea: Well, that's rosey! Let's trade, shall we?

[The Faeries rummage through the items-
Azalea, Dew of the Stars, what is this? Do I brush my hair with it?
And what's this? A mirror? I can see myself in it!]

Faerie Azalea: Thank you for the gifts. We've brought some fruits on behalf of the Plume Queen.
Ruler: Thank you so much. We will share these with everyone in the Kingdom.
Faerie Azalea: That would be rosey.
Ah, before I forget, our Plume Queen has an answer to your treaty.
Our Plume Queen agrees that we can start anew, on the condition that you build
a place that welcomes the Faeries in you Kingdom. A Faerie Respite, perhaps.

(OT> Splendid idea. I agree with the Faerie's proposal. In addition to being a place
for the Faeries to visit and rest, it will also serve as a symbol of our ties.
    11. Symbol of Friendship (OT> They gave us Magic Fruits! I'm sure Miss Ivy will love these. )

Ruler: Hey, wait! Come back! They're gone.
OT: Not to fear, they left us a blueprint.
Ruler: That's good. Let's use it to build something they'll fall in love with.
Then they'll visit us all the time!
    OT: That's the plan.

(OT> Now that we have the hole dug, let's fill it with water. This will be a fine respite indeed.
    12. Faerie Subtle (OT> Beautiful, it's starting to look very special. )

Ruler: Hmm.. it says here we'll need some Faerimer Columns.
    OT: Oh dear...
Ruler: I know what that means. History lesson time.
OT: Back during the Old King's reign, he did terrible things.
One of the things he did was remove culture and art from the Faeries.
The Faerimer Columns were one of the things he hid away deep in the Dark Caves.
    Ruler: That's awful...
Thurston: My liege, send me and thy best Knights for this mission!
Sabina: So valiant and noble of you, Sir Thurston!
Ruler: Thank you, Thurston, for your charge.

(OT> The Old King was a very aggressive Ruler.
I hope the Faerimer Columns are safe and sound.
I wish our Knights a speedy return from their Adventure To The Dark Caves. )
    13. Cave Rich In Culture (OT> Truly magnificent! Astounding work, Sir Thurston.

Ruler: The middle is pretty empty. What goes there?
OT: That's where we'll place the graceful Lady Finverra.
Ruler: That's a beautiful name. Who is she?
OT: According to the Legends, Lady Finverra was the one that created the Blush Plume.
    Ruler: Blush Plume?
OT: Yes, that is what the Faeries call their Kingdom.
Ruler: Oh. I hope they'll invite us to visit one day. Sounds like a really magnificent place.
Is the statue hidden away in the Dark Caves as well?
OT: Ah no. The Old King kept the statue for himself.
He stored it with the rest of his treasures in the Ancient Vault.

(OT> I hope we can locate the statue of Lady Finverra in the Old King's vault.
He has many, many treasures tucked away in there?
Maybe one day when time is on our side, we can go through and return all the sacred things he stole.
    14. Lady Finverra
(OT> I'm glad she's rescued from the cold vaults of the Old King!

    Ruler: She's beautiful.
OT: Indeed. She also had a generous heart.
Ruler: I can see why the Faeries honor her.
    Are we almost done?
OT: Not quite. We're missing the most important thing in Faerie culture!
    Ruler: Flowers!
Sabina: We should all work together to gather seeds.
The Magic Garden has some of the most beautiful flowers.

(Sabina: The Magic Garden and Glimmerbulbs produce some of the most exquisite seeds.
Let's gather enough seeds so the respite is lush when the flowers bloom! )
    15. No Longer A Fairy Tale (Sabina>This is gorgeous! When are the Faeries going to see this? )

Sabina: I think I see glowy orbs floating near the respite.
    Ruler: Let's go say hello.

    [Faeries arrive at the respite]

    Ruler: Hi again.

Faeries: By sparkles of the Plume, this is gorgeous! Azalea, come take a look see!
I agree with Lila! The humans have outdone themselves!
Ruler: We're happy to hear you like it!
Faerie: Thank you. We appreciate the details and your effort!
We think it's time for you to meet our Plume Queen.
Ruler: It would be our honor.

    [waiting at the respite]
    .. ..
Plume Queen: You're the one my sisters have spoke favourably about.
    Your eyes show promise.
It takes courage to admit mistakes and to actively correct them.
I feel a strong aura surrounding you?
Ruler: That's very kind.. but I'm just a regular person.

Faerie: My Plume Queen, apologies for the interruption, but it's time
we return to the Blush Plume. There are guests awaiting your presence.
Plume Queen: We will meet again. I feel you will achieve great things in this lifetime.

Ruler: That was, for lack of a better word.. magical.
Sabina: She was tiny! And beautiful!
Thurston: Truly graceful! But never more graceful than thee, my liege!

(Ivy> Great job! Now that we're friends with the Faeries, I wonder what they'll trade us?
I'm gonna head over to the Faerie Respite and make some new friends.
You know, turning over a new leaf. 16. The Plume Queen
(Ivy> The Faeries talk a lot about Fey Crystals...I wonder if they'll give me one. )

    C23 Blythewood Part 1

Summary: Old Thomas reaches out to a long-time friend.
A letter arrives that may split the Kingdom in half.
A life is saved and welcomed into the Kingdom.

[ Old Thomas begins writing to Agnes]

OT: Oh dear.. it's been awhile since I last wrote to Agnes. I hope it's not awkward I write now.
Hmm.. where to start.. ? I suppose, Dear Agnes?
Dear Agnes, how are you, friend?
    .. ..
Oh no, that's not good enough after such a long period of silence on my part!
    .. ..

    Dear Agnes,
I hope you are well. Let's see, where did we last leave off?
Life continues to treat these old bones well...
I am still serving as a Royal Council and the Ruler hasn't failed to be true and graceful.
Perhaps you'll visit one day? I promise you won't be disappointed!
You once told me life should be full of surprises and wonder? I am blessed to say I'm filled with those moments every day.
I hope you are well, and if there is a chance, do come visit.
    Always, Thomas

OT: Oh dear, I think I'll sleep on this before sending it off?

(OT>No, I must not be a coward! It's about time I send this letter to Agnes.
I wonder where she has been and what she has seen.. ?
I hope she writes soon, the wait for a reply is always harder than writing the letter itself.
    1. Dear Agnes (OT>Oh! She sent a gift as well!)

[Old Thomas receives Agnes letter ]

    Dear Thomas,
Hello, hello from Blythewood! It's considerably bright and sunny here for a winter!
It pleases me to hear you are doing well and life is pleasant.
I've been meaning to visit last summer, but a certain someone never wrote back. . .
Sweet Thomas, that was a joke! I have a feeling you were stressing yourself over that!
And I couldn't help but tease you like when we were in our astronomy lessons.
To be sure, I was never upset. I knew you were kept quite busy.
I've heard many, many tales throughout my journey about the Glimmerwood.
It's quite dramatic indeed! Is it all true? Does your Kingdom truly have a Manticore?
What of the Mythic Essence? And the Glimmergate's awakening?
You must tell me all, your travels surely sound more exciting than mine!
Attached is a little gift from my travels.
I miss you dearly, I hope to hear from you soon . . .
    Love, Agnes

(OT>Love! Oh dear, reading that always makes my heart skip a beat!
She didn't have to send a gift.
What can someone like me offer a lady who already has experienced all the wonders of life?
    2. Gift of Wonder [at the potion shop] Otto ivy & Lady G>Umm.. the essences are.. for me! )

Ivy: Sooo, what do you need these for again?
    OT: Umm.. uhh, for myself!
Lady G: Yes, but for what, dear?
OT: To study and document in the name of history, of course! Haha Ha..
Ivy: Why are you so sweaty?
Lady G: Better yet, didn't you already document this when we first discovered it?
OT: It seems I may have missed something, and I would like to restudy it, to be sure!
Ivy: What did you think you missed? Maybe we can answer it for ya.
    OT: ..
Lady G: I know a lie when I sense one. Maybe the Glimmer plants can get it out of him?
OT: Glimmerdust, no! I would like to gift some to my friend.
Ivy: Hahaha, now it all makes sense. *Friend* , huh?
Lady G: Am I missing a joke here?
Ivy: I'll explain while we brew. He probably just wants to impress his *friend* Agnes with a gift.

(OT>Miss Ivy! Agnes is just my friend, please stop spreading stories!
Oh dear.. Well thank you for your assistance. Agnes will be amazed to see this brand new essence.
    3. Can't Fool The Ladies (OT>Now for the hard part.. writing the letter.)

Ivy: So, what are ya gonna write? Dear Agnes, I brewed these Mythic Essences from the heart because I have a crush on you.
Lady G: Is it that embarrassing? You are pink like the cheek of a baby frog's first croak.
    OT: ...
Ivy: : Fine, we'll stop teasing you. Here you go, all packaged up nicely.
OT: Thank you Miss Ivy, and Lady Greselda. Please do let me know if you ever need assistance for anything!
    Ivy: Anything, huh?
    Lady G: Hmm..
OT: Oh dear.. this is going to lead to trouble?
Lady G: Good to know, Old Thomas. We shall do so if the need ever arises.
Ivy: See you later! Go get her, tiger!!

OT: Time to sit down and write the letter.

(OT> What to say.. do I end this with Love, Thomas? She did end her letter with love.
Perhaps it's a signal I can too? Oh dear, I feel like I'm young again! )
    4. Four Page Letter
(OT> I should re-read this before sending it off... )

[Old Thomas re-reads letter before sending]

    Dear Agnes,
My heart feels lighter knowing you forgive me for not writing immediately.
Blythewood! I remember our trip there during the summer of our botanical studies camp!
Has it changed much? Is the apple pie lady as grumpy as always? The good old days, I miss those times indeed.
Yes, the songs and stories of the minstrels are true! I will send you some of my recollections.
I hope they're up to standards! I did my best to record everything as it unfolded.
You are too kind. Surely my stationary life cannot be more exciting than yours.
Thank you for the souvenir, I also attached a little something for you as well.
Our two best witches (we joke - a witch and a half!) brewed them.
I hope they are useful for your future travels. Where do you plan on visiting next?
I pray you are well, and I miss you terribly.
    Love, Thomas
P.S: I hope the Glimmerwood is on the travel list once again.

(OT> I wish I could see her face when this package arrives.
Mythic Essence! I almost forgot what a discovery it was!
I surely took it for granted? 5. Dear Agnes Part 2
    (OT> Oh, a.. sapling gift? )

OT: Hooray! A letter from Agnes!

    Dear Thomas,

Blythewood has gone through changes. Some for the better, and some for the worse.
The Baron's rules have changed the culture here.
The apple pie lady is no longer in town.
She was sent to The Baron's royal kitchen to bake him fruit pies whenever he wants one.
I believe she may be even grumpier now! I do hope she gets to go home soon . . .
Minstrels that dare speak ill of The Baron say he had a hand in the demise of the former King,
and possibly the disappearance of the true heir as well.
We live in dark times, and I feel it in my bones darker times are coming. . .
Oh my, I've been rambling on about my fears. I'm sure you've already heard these whispers.

Onto lighter subjects, yes? I enjoyed your letter! I tried my hardest to read it slowly.
These are truly epic findings! I must visit soon to witness these once in a lifetime discoveries.
And to see you, of course. It will be like old times. Studious Thomas and Curious Agnes!
Speaking of old times, I stumbled upon a weak Praying Tree in Blythewood.
Unfortunately, The Baron issued a decree to not water the Praying Tree. . .
Anyone with eyes could see the tree was heavy with sadness as it withered away. . .
As I sat in silence admiring the tree, a gust came and the root lifted meekly off the soil.
And something magical happened! I felt the wind push me towards the root.
I don't know what took over me! I swiftly broke off a piece of the root, and grabbed a handful of soil.
Then I rushed off before anyone saw me.
I've been trying to nurture the root. But to no avail, nothing worked.
Except for the Mythic Essence you sent me! The root and seeds started glowing and the color returned!
But it was short lived and I am out of the essences.
I believe you are the one who can nurture this sapling. I apologize for imposing.
I hope the Ruler of Glimmerwood can protect this future Praying Tree from The Baron.
Write to me soon and often, sweet Thomas.
    With All My Heart, Agnes

OT: Oh dear, The Baron is terrorizing other Kingdoms..
I must take this sapling to the Ruler at once and request an audience with everyone.

(OT>With everyone present and aware of the situation,
we can better combine our efforts to revive this piece of the Praying Tree before it's too late.
    6. The Blythewood Sapling
(OT> Any ideas to revive this sapling? )

Ruler: The Baron is always up to no good. Ivy, Lady Greselda? Any leads on what to do?
Ivy: We can try some things at the Greenhouse.
Lady G: I must ask, what are we doing reviving this tree? Aside from doing Blythewood a favor?
    Ruler: What do you mean?
Lady G: Well, has anyone thought about why The Baron wanted this tree gone?
Perhaps we should understand the Praying Tree before rooting it into our Kingdom.
Ruler: The Baron is always doing things that involve harming others
Lady G: True, but let's not deny that the Praying Tree *is* a magical being.
And housing a magical being in our Kingdom could bring us visitors we may not welcome.
And we can't exactly uproot the tree after it's revived and send it back to Blythewood!
Not to mention this is a lifetime of commitment. And to what? We don't even know.
    Ruler: I.. ... ...
OT: I want to help Agnes and the Blythewood.. but I must fulfill my duties to you first.
As Royal Council I urge you to consider Lady Greselda's precaution.

Ruler: .. Thank you, Old Thomas. And thank you Lady Greselda for speaking true.
As Ruler of this Kingdom, I say we do all we can to revive the Praying Tree.
I'm not afraid of The Baron or the unknown. We'll deal with what comes as it arises.
I don't expect anyone to fight my battles. I will take full responsibility.
I do hope that everyone stays, and protects the Kingdom of fairness that we've built together

OT: Thank you, kind Ruler. You will never lose my faithfulness.
Thurston: My liege, thou shall never lose me or the Excalibam by your side!
Lady G: Hmp. I applaud your bravery. You have my magic at your side.
Sabina: Of course we?ll be here! You've done so much for all of us.
Ivy: Yup. And this turned emotional FAST. Let's get to reviving this sapling, shall we?

(Ivy> Planting 101. Let's get this sapling into the ground as soon as we can.
The basic nutrients are all from mother nature anyways.
Then we can start experimenting on what will make this baby grow!
7.To Be Selfless, No Matter The Cost (Ivy> I wonder if it'll grow?)

    [end of part 1]

    Blythewood Part 2

Summary: The Baron destroys a piece of history.
The Kingdom reconstructs lost knowledge with outside help.
    The Faeries get restless.

[Old Thomas sends letter to Agnes]

    Dear Agnes,
It was a struggle deciding what to do with the sapling.
We realized we know nothing about the Praying Tree.
In the end, the Ruler decided to plant the sapling and let come what may come.
Some claim to have seen the sapling dance in the sun! But, that was a while ago...
The sapling appears weaker by the day and I'm afraid it will wither away if we don't act soon.
Perhaps Mythic Essence is no longer enough?
Do you have an inkling to what we should do?
Do you know more about the Praying Tree?
    Yours, Thomas

(OT>I should do my own research as well while we wait for Agnes' reply.
Will you help me look for books relating to: Blythewood, Praying Tree, magical plants,
and anything else that could help us understand this sapling?
    1. Planting The Seeds Of.. ? (OT> Oh dear, we have a lot of translating to do. )

Ruler: I'll wait for the carrier pigeon with you, too. I have a feeling today is the day.
Ah, there's the little birdy now! Stupendous timing!

    Dear Thomas,
I am at ease to hear the sapling arrived safely and is under your care.
We must move fast since Mythic Essences magic is no longer enough. . .
I did a little digging of my own. (Always one step ahead of you!)

According to rumors, The Barons Knights removed four trinkets that blessed the tree.
The removal of the trinkets was the true reason behind the trees passing.
The decree to not water the tree was just a diversion.
The Baron wanted the knowledge of the trinkets lost. .

The language barrier has been challenging, but I've befriended the Blythewood citizens.
They say they can recreate the missing trinkets, but it will be difficult.
    I can't take on a task this large alone. . .
I hope distance wont be a problem for us working together.

The town has gotten strange since the trees passing. . I hope to read your words soon.
    They bring me comfort.
    In anticipation, Agnes

(OT> Oh dear, what should we do? Oh, yes, of course! You found the list of materials she needs.
This is quite a request. Do we have any of these materials in our Kingdom reserves?
    2. Four Trinkets of Blessing *mail Agnes the materials*
(OT> I await the good news, Thomas )

Ruler: I hope Agnes is safe.. it has been awhile since she wrote back.
OT: I hope she is safe as well..
Thurston: My liege! This carrier pigeon was found outside our castle walls!
    OT: Ah, that's Agnes' seal!

    Dear Thomas,
I apologize for not sending this letter straight to your door. .
The Baron recently declared that letters can no longer be sent or received in Blythewood.
I had to do a lot of sneaking around to get this little birdy out unnoticed.

I'm starting to understand the language here better.
Communication should be much smoother from here on..

The Blythewood artisans crafted the trinket! They call it the Life Tree Trinket.
However this is just the base. . . The trinket is missing the blessing.
I believe the blessing is in the form of a stone. Perhaps a precious gem?
I hope you were able to find a lead, I will continue to ask around for more information.

Here is what I know so far, I hope my translations are correct:
There are four blessings that guarded the Praying Tree.
Each Trinket represents an element, I believe they are Water, Air, Fire, and Nature.
I will start looking into the history of the Praying Tree. . in the meantime,
The water blessing is that trinket that must be reconstructed first.

This carrier pigeon is trained, please use this one when you write back.
    Love, Agnes

    Ruler: A water stone?

(OT> Shall we tour all of our lakes, ponds, and rocks near the waters to understand what type of stone forms there?
We are looking for something that could represent a water stone..
    3. Water Blessing (OT> We may need to travel to the ocean. )

Ruler: I don't think any of these rocks are it. They feel very ordinary.
Ivy: Duh, I could have told you that. Where we need to go is... the ocean!
Thurston: My liege, send me in your place. The ocean is a dangerous place, filled with Kraken!
And Sirens that will lure you to your DOOM with their melodies!
Ruler: Thurston, I think those are just sailor legends.
Sabina: No way, Princess Lorelei of the deep sea kingdom is real!
Ivy: Well, only one way to settle this? TO THE OCEAN!
Ruler: Why do I feel like this is a ploy to get us to go out to sea?
Ivy: Well, if you're a chicken, we can send our trusty knights instead.
But we'll need to supply them with Potion of Gills. So they can breathe underwater, duh!
OT: Ah, I see! The potion will help them swim deep into the ocean to mine precious sea stones!
    Ivy: Yep! You got it!
Ruler: That sounds really dangerous? How long does this stuff last? Has ANYONE tried it before?
Ivy: I haven't brewed it before, but it shouldn't be too hard.
Lady G: If it worries you dear, allow me to help. I have a few recipes I would like to try as well..
Ruler: Oh geez.. OK. We will leave this up to you both.

(Ivy> We'll need ALL the ocean- y things. And whatever else Lady Greselda suggests.
This is gonna take awhile, but hey, no one's perfect! 4. Potion of Gills
(Ivy> Sooo, who wants to be a tester? )

Ruler: So how long after taking this potion will the effects kick in?
How long will it last? Do I grow gills? Where on my body.. ?
Lady G: Too many questions, dear. We won't know until we try it.
So.. which poor soul is going to try this?
Ivy: I say Thurston. He's the one that offered to go!
    Thurston: *Gulp* I.. I..
Lady G: You did swear an oath to protect the Ruler, dearie.
Thurston: In the name of the Ruler, I will take this poison for thee!
    Lady G: It's not poison, you - -
Ruler: It's ok Thurston. I can take the potion.
    Thurston: No!
Lady G: Oh my, he's chugging all of it!
Ivy: Whoo hoo! Chug! Chug! Chug!

(Ivy> Ready, Old Thomas? Get out your ink and paper and get ready to
record this! This is going to be a great learning experience for all of us! )
    5. Can I Breathe On Land? (Ivy>Quick, dunk his head into water! )

    Ruler: Thurston! Are you ok?!
Ivy: He grew gills! His fingers are webbed!
    Lady G: Fascinating..
Ivy: We can't test much if he's going to stick his head in a bucket until it wears off.
Lady G: Let's throw him into the nearby pond.

    [At the pond]
Thurston: I'm swimming! This is aweso - - *gargle gargle*
Ivy: He's like a fish. He can't speak until he breathes underwater first.
Ruler: I guess it's.. totally safe.
Ivy: Yep! The only thing we need to worry about is the consistency in each bottle.
If they're unevenly brewed, some can last as short as five minutes!
    Ruler: ..

(Lady G> Don't worry dear, we'll be sure to brew a very good batch when it's time to set out.
    6. Deep Sea Exploring (Lady G> Well? Any Kraken?

    Ivy: Thurston looks traumatized.
Ruler: Thank you, Thurston. Your service is greatly appreciated.
Thurston: Anything for my sovereign! The hair of Sirens cannot sway me to their side!
Ivy: I think that's seaweed you fought off. Not siren hair.
OT: Siren or not, these stones you recovered are magnificent!
Ruler: Yeah, I've never seen anything like this before. What is it?
Thurston: Lapis Lazuli, according to the common folk near the beach.
Ruler: What do we do now? Stick it into the Life Tree Trinket?

(OT> I believe so, let's take it to the Magic Forge. They should be able to figure something out for us
. 7. Lapis Lazuli Trinket (OT> Oh my, it's making my hands moist! )

Ruler: This is beautiful. Look, hold it! Your hands get moist!
Sabina: This is would make for an excellent moisturizer!
Ruler: That's a unique proposition.. but the sapling needs it more than we do.
OT: How about we build a post to place the trinket on?
That way it won't be so easy to remove..
Ruler: Good idea, let's do that.

(Sabina>I guess I can come by whenever my hands are dry and place them around the Lapis Lazuli trinket.
8.A Stake In The Tree -this should help it grow big and strong!
Sabina>Whoa... did the air change around here?)

[ Old Thomas writes to Agnes]

    Dear Agnes,
The sapling grew in a matter of days!
It is not a fully grown tree, but I have no doubts that it will be soon!
The stone we used to fill the trinket was the Lapis Lazuli.
I did some research of my own, I am Studious Thomas after all!
Here are some things on the Praying Tree that were consistent across all scrolls.
Before I start, I must note that I never found anything on a *Praying Tree*
Rather, there are many references to a *Goddess Tree*
Perhaps they are one and the same? Any - who, here are my findings:
No one knows how the tree came to be, but many believe it is a powerful magical being.
It is said to be a beautiful tree with fuchsia petals that mimic velvet.
According to a poem, when one sits inside the draping vines of the Goddess Tree
And reflects in silence, one will always find the clarity they seek.
That's all I was able to find. I hope to translate more of the tomes tonight.
    Be safe, my dear.
    Devotedly, Thomas

(OT> I hope this pigeon remembers her way back to Agnes..
Glimmerspeed, sweet pigeon. Do not get caught. 9. Any New News?-to the Royal Exchange

*Old Thomas receives letter from Agnes* (OT> Excellent. Another Life Tree Trinket! )

    Dear Thomas,
The townsfolk believe we are the chosen ones to save the tree!
I tell them they are too kind and it's truly justice that is on our side.
I am glad to hear you did your homework!
Yes! The Goddess Tree! My translation was off. My apologies!
The people of Blythewood don't know much about the Goddess Tree either..
Stories got lost over generations, unfortunately.

Here are my findings so far:
It is known that the Goddess Tree was loved by the Faeries.
The Trolls also regard the tree with respect, but never interacted with her.
Over time, humans discovered the tree and also started to seek her for comfort.
The Faeries welcomed the humans and shared the Goddess Tree with them.
When the Old King heard, he declared the Faeries were untrustworthy.
The Old King demanded the tree removed and the citizens and Faeries fought him.
With much loss and sadness, the defenders of the tree won.
After that the Blythewood people kept to themselves and not much else is known.

I have so many questions.. What is the origin of this tree?
Why was the Old King so obsessed with the Faeries during his rule?
What was the agreement between the Old King and Blythewood after the battle?
What does The Baron know of this tree?

Attached is another Trinket. Be safe.
    Love, Agnes

(OT>Too many questions, and none of them happy. I propose we revisit
the tree, perhaps we'll be one of the lucky few to witness come of its guidance. )
    10. Deep Rooted History- visit the Blythewood Tree: Hello? Anyone there?
    (OT> I guess the tree isn't sentient.. yet? )

Ruler: I haven't felt anything *magical* happen. Anyone feel something out of the ordinary?
    Ivy: Nope. Not me.
Ruler: Let's stop wasting energy and work on the Air Trinket.
What precious stone represents this element?
Ivy: No clue, but I think it'll most likely be a pearly blue color.
Ruler: Ok, let's split up and collect things we think could work?
Thurston: Rah - rah to that, my liege!

(Thurston> What's blue and is precious? It must symbolize the air nature.
What would Sir Wren do in this situation? 11. Something Blue, And Something New
    glimmer dust-it's sparkly blue; mithril-a steel blue won't hurt;
    blue petals- a soft blue might be good; enchanter?s essence-liquidy blue stuff;
    earth wisp- it's more green? but it's a bit blue too;
glimmer shards- Lady Greselda likes these.
(Thurston: My sovereign, no need to hold back on feedback! )

Ruler: I don't think any of this is going to work.
I keep feeling the answer should be very obvious?
    Sabina: That's because it is!
The obvious answer would have been.. Faeries! They are cute, teensy, and air like!
So we should have been using all the things Faerie. Not all the things blue!
Ruler: Good idea, Faerie - like items are special and very elemental in nature.
Let's collect some and see what we can do.
Sabina: Let's call it a Moonstone!

(Sabina>Yay! Moonstone it is! I hope when we combine it all together
the color is a beautiful pearly blue shade. 12. The Moonstone
-craft the Moonstone-to the Magic Forge.
(Sabina> Did I just see a Faerie at the windowsill?)

Sabina: It's gorgeous! Here! Press your ear to it.
Ruler: I hear something like.. wind - chimes against the breeze.
Sabina: That's a poetic way to put it.
Ruler: It's very peaceful...I hope the tree likes it as well.

(OT> If the water blessing helped the tree grow stronger, I wonder what this will do?
    13. Air Blessing-this is our only stone! Don't break it!
(OT> The leaves... are turning fuchsia?)

Ruler: Whoa, the leaves are fading from green to magenta.
OT: Dear Ruler.. this isn't just any regular sapling..
This is the Goddess Tree! I have no doubts.
    Sabina: Oh look! Faeries!

Ruler to Faerie: Hello. We're glad you came by, we have questions about this tree.
Faerie: Do not speak to us like we are friends.
[Faeries to each other-This is the tree our sisters told us about.
The magic surrounding it is too strong. There's nothing we can do now, we arrived too late.]

Faerie: Humans, what have you done?

    Ruler: What do you mean?
Faerie: How dare you use our gifts and kindness on the likes of this tree.
Ruler: But I thought we were doing the Faeries a favor?
Faerie: A favor?! What filled your head with that many earthworms?
Ruler: History cites that the Faeries loved the Goddess Tree..
Faerie: Oh. You did not just - - You think we're all the same, don't cha?
Ruler: No.. umm.. That's not what I meant.. I..

Faerie: Here's a little neat fact for you. Not all Faeries are friends.
We're like you. There are many Faerie Factions and alliances.
Our Faerie Queen will be very displeased to hear of what you did..
How could you build the Faerie Respite to symbolize our friendship
and then root this Goddess Tree in your Kingdom? Are you playing games with us?

Ruler: Slow down, no one is trying to fool anyone!
Faerie: Sure, like we trust you.
And just to be sure you won't further this tree's powers with OUR things,
you can kiss the Respite goodbye. It will no longer produce items.
Tell the other Faerie Hive to supply you.
    Goodbye. *Blows a raspberry* Blffffff!

Ruler: This isn't good. They think we're working with another Faerie group.
OT: This awful assumption was my fault, I take full responsibility.
Ruler: None of us knew.. The Faeries have remained hidden until recently.
They can't expect us to know everything about them when they've been so secretive.
We also built the Faerie Respite on our lands, not knowing what message it was sending..
    That was misleading..
Well, the Faerie Respite doesn't seem to be working anymore.
Ruler: Let's be sure our tree is safe until we figure out what's going on..

(OT> Yes, we need to protect this living tree until we assess the situation.
    14. Not All Faeries Are The Same!-Check the Goddess Tree-I feel a magical barrier;
check the lv5 Faerie Respite-they're mad? the respite isn't dropping items!
(OT> What do the faeries want from us?

The Blythewood Sapling Part 3 - Goals
    Goal Pre-requisites & Notes:
    * Must have completed Part 2 of the Blythewood Sapling.
    * Complete the last goal, Knock On Wood and But We Just Met from Troll Tribe part 5 to trigger Team Azalea/Lila goals.

    Goal 7:
    * From S8: The chance to get the Garnet trinket is actually pretty close to 50% - the goal on our end was that most everyone who was able to get the 4/4 garnets would easily be able to get the Trinket. The chance to get the Garnet from adventure is exactly 50%. We do want to improve our loot system to help hedge against bad luck cases like yours, but for now, pure chance is all we have to work with.
    * It has taken some player up to 20 times to craft the garnet trinket; some got it first time.
    * The faeries are actively trying to stop you crafting the garnet trinket. This means when you craft it it can fail. When this happens the trinket is returned to you but not the garnet. You will need to do more adventures to mount despair to get more garnets (not 100% drop rate).

    Blythewood Part 3

Summary: Another side of the story gets revealed, however, history's timeline is still blurry. The Kingdom takes a stand and supports a side. Things stay uncertain while the stranger sleeps.

    [Old Thomas writes to Agnes]

    Dear Agnes,
I've gotten the Ruler caught in a battle with the Faeries . . .
The Glimmerwood Faeries are upset that we are caring for the Goddess Tree.
Why they are upset is unclear. But they do not want this tree to get any stronger.
Do you know the history between the Blythewood Faeries and the Glimmer Faeries?
If we can understand the friction, perhaps we can remedy the situation in the Kingdom.
I do not expect a simple solution. The Faeries have been around far longer than we have.
    Their history is complex.
I hope all is well on your end, please write soon.
    Love, Thomas

(OT>Glimmerspeed, sweet pigeon. Just like befoe, do not get caught! We await your return!1. FAERIE RICH HISTORY *from Agnes* OT>Another Life Tree Trinket!)

    Dear Thomas,
I did the best I could, I hope my knowledge helps your Kingdom.
My sources say the Glimmer Faeries were the dominant Faerie clan until their downfall.
Under Lady Finverra's lead, the Glimmer Faeries were earnest and hardworking.

After Lady Finverra's passing, Lady Ivinea took her place. She wasn't gracious at all.
She wanted to bring the Glimmer Faeries to glory. The Glimmer clan rose to power,
when Lady Ivinea realized the Glimmerwood had harvestable magic.
With her discovery, the clan quickly became the wealthiest and strongest.
Power and greed became the motivator. They wanted the Blythewood and sided with
the Old King. However that battle didn't go in their favor, enraging the Old King.
That's all I was able to gather. I am not sure what to make of this at the moment.

On to the matter at hand. . . If we continue onward, the fire blessing is next.
A Garnet stone is the only one I can think of. I hope you can locate some soon.
    With Love, Agnes

Ruler: it explains why the Old King had the Lady Finverra statue. And other Faerie artifacts.
OT: Indeed. It also explains why the Old King was cruellest to the Glimmer Faeries. . .

(OT>You may want to go to the Magic Garden? I think that would be the best way
to call the Glimmer Faeries out to meet us. 2. WE COME IN PEACE! OT>Hello there!)

    [faeries arrive]
Faerie: I hope you're here to tell us you're getting rid of that tree.
Ruler: No, I'm not. I'm here to talk it out.
    (2 faeries whispering
1stFaerie: (The young Ruler sounds firmer and more confident than before. . . )
2ndFaerie: (Could be a bluff, let's hold our ground. )
Ruler: What are you guys whispering over there?
Faerie: Ahem. Don't rush us, you're not our Queen.
Ruler: Speaking of the Queen, I wold rather speak to her.
Faerie: No. As long as the tree is around, you will not get the honor of meeting the Queen.
Ruler: Well that's not fair. You haven't been honest with us either.
We can be just as upset as you are. But we're not. We want to talk it out.
Faerie: we know there was a misunderstanding, but it doesn't change what transpired.
Prove to us you want to make it right. Give us back the things you used on the tree.
Ruler: You're not making this easy at all. We're both at fault. Let's work together.
Faerie: No. Do it and we'll talk about an audience with the Queen.
Ruler: Since I never got the Plume Queen's name, is here name Ivinea?
Faerie: Queen Ivinea is the prime jewel of the Plume.
Ruler: We'll do this because we want to talk. Not because we're bending to your will.

(Ivy>This is going to be tough. They want ALL the things we used from
them. On accident. Meh, the Faeries are a fickle bunch. 3. BEING IMPOSSIBLE
Ivy>Here you go, your Faerie highness)

    [between ruler & faerie]
Ruler: It's not everything, but we did our best. Can we talk now?
Faerie: You're not even trying at all. How do we take
you seriously? No audience with the Queen.
Ruler: That wasn't part of the deal.
Faerie: The deal was we'll consider giving you a meeting with the Queen.
Ruler: That's not honest at all, you knew what we were agreeing on.
Faerie: Nope, we never said we would grant you a meeting with the Queen.
    Ruler: . . .
Tell Queen Ivinea we're going to create the third blessing for the Goddess Tree.
    Faerie: You won't dare.
    Ruler: Watch us.

*At the Castle* ruler speaks with Sabina
Ruler: I think I spoke too soon. . . I shouldn't have let my anger get the best of me. . .
Sabina: Don't be too hard on yourself. They were being meanies anyways.
Ruler: I guess we can't back down now. Where do we go to find the Garnet?
Sabina: The Desert Sands is really hot. Maybe we should look there?

(Sabina>Hot desert heat sound like the place for precious fire stones like a Garnet.
    4. HEATED ARGUMENT Sabina>Find any burning stone?)

    [gathering at the Castle]
    Ruler to Thurston: Find anything?
Thurston: Nay, my liege. I HAVE FAILED THEE1
Ivy: You're SO dramatic. Where do we look next?
    Thurston: FAIIIIILED!
Ruler: It's totally fine, Thurston. Did you find any clues at least?
Thurston: Errm. . . One of the knights found a drawing on one of the boulders in the desert.
It was a large red circle next to a red mountain.
Looks like sorcery, my liege. Stay far away from it!
IVY: No way, that sounds like a MAJOR clue. Could the red circle be the Garnet?
Ruler: Anyone know of a red mountain?
Sabina: Oh! From my tower when I was trapped, I saw a volcano off in the distance.
Ruler: That might be it! What is it called?
    Sabina: Mount Despair.
Thurston: My liege, that's the depths of the underworld!
Lady G: Have no fear, dearie. I have the perfect enchantment for your armor.
You won't melt away to a pulp with this spell active.

(Lady G>*NOTE* The Underworld Enchantment is volatile and will only last for 8 hrs.
The next quest is TIME SENSITIVE. Completing the timed quest will get you ahead. You do Not HAVE to complete the timed quest in order to progress.
    5. UNDERWORLD ENCHANTMENT Lady G>Do not underestimate this soothing red color)

    [fairie appears]
    1st: Stop what you're doing!
Ruler: Then let us speak with Queen Ivinea.
Faerie: . . . No. Stop what you're doing first.
Ivy: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
Faerie: We mean it, do not power up this tree any further.
Ruler: We mean it too. Let's talk.
    Faerie: . . .
Ruler: If we don't talk we'll never reach a solution. You've been silent long enough.
We know about the Blythewood battle. We know about the Glimmer Faeries? rise to power.
What we don't know is why you are against the Goddess Tree.
Faerie: It belongs to another clan.
Ruler: That can't be the only reason.
Faerie: As you wish. *Pours Faerie dust into the Underworld Potion*
    Ruler: Hey, stop that!
Faerie: Take that! Your potion is now unreliable.

(Lady G>Faeries are a temperamental lot. Take this potion and climb Mount Despair.
This potion will wear off in 8 HRS. While this enchantment is ACTIVE, you have
a higher chance of finding Garnet stones. Once it wears off they will be harder to find)
    6. FOOL ME TWICE . . . Lady G> you are very lucky! )

    [fairie appears]
IVY: Hah, your little plan can't stop us. *blows raspberry* Phbbbbt.
Faerie: I am rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say
Bounces off me and sticks to you!
Ruler: Stop! We're not here to fight. We want to talk to the Queen.
    Faerie: No.
Ruler: Did you even tell her of our request?
    Faerie: . . .
Ruler: Why can't we talk things out? We're not making any progress.
Faerie: Do not craft the Garnet Trinket. . . Please.
Ruler: We won't if you would just deliver the message to your Queen.
Faerie: Fine. But don't craft the Trinket while we're gone!
To be sure we're going to place a magic barrier around the Garnet.

Lady G: Dear, you're being firm, but not firm enough. Craft the Fire Blessing.
Ruler: That wouldn't be in good faith.
Lady G: Like there was any from them! They cast a spell to be sure we can't !
    Ruler: I . . .
Lady G: You will stand up for our Kingdom, and to the Faeries that are bullying us.
They're starting to take you seriously. Stay strong, and lead.
Ruler: Ok. Craft the Fire Blessing. ONLY because we need to show them we're serious.

(Ivy>The Faeries are going to make this very difficult. Let's focus all of our energies to fight off their spell 7. WITH OUR POWERS COMBINED . . . ! Ivy>I am Captain Ivy! )

    [faerie appears]

Faerie: You broke your promise! You crafted the Fire Blessing!
    Ruler: We didn't promise anything.
Faerie: You say you want to make this work, but you're building up leverage!
Lady G: We've been patient long enough, dearie. Are we getting a chance to speak to the Queen?
Faerie: Not any more with that attitude!
Lady G: Don't test my patience, dear.
Place the Fire Blessing by the Goddess Tree!
Ruler: Lady Greselda! You're making this worse!
Lady G: I've had enough with the back and forth! Don't bend the knee to the Glimmer Faeries!

(Lady G>Am I right, or am I wrong? The Glimmer Faeries have bullied us
long enough! And didn't they fall from their former glory? Well their attitude hasn't dropped a notch, that's for sure. 8. BRANCHING OUT My goodness. . . It's violet?)

    SL: at the Goddess Tree

Ruler: The leaves turned completely purple!
Sabina: It's beautiful! Touch the leaves! They feel like fine velvet!
Faerie: Please . . . no more. We will get the Queen . . .
Meet us at the Faerie Respite.

(Lady G>Always rule with a steady hand, my dear. You may not agree with me, but it was called for this time. Get your questions and thoughts together, I have a feeling it won't be easy to meet this Queen a second time. 9. DON'T BEND THE KNEE Lady G>Queen Ivinea is on time.)

    [at the Faerie Respite]

Faerie: All praise the Plume Queen with the sweetest nectar.
Queen Ivinea: Hello, young Ruler. My floral maids have told me
everything. I apologize for their diplomacy.
    Ruler: It's . . . fine. I'm happy we're here and ready to talk.
Can you tell us. . . everything, I guess? From the beginning?
Queen Ivinea: Of course, the Glimmer Faeries have nothing to hide.

After Lady Finverra?s passing, we were no longer on good terms with the other clans.
I rose to the challenge and did my best to complete Lady Finverra's duties,
But the other clans took no notice. There was much resistance.
It is unclear to me still, why the other clans were uncooperative. . . I suspect foul play.
But without proof there is not much I can do.

Ruler: Is that when you discovered you could channel the magic in the Glimmerwood?
Queen Ivinea: Yes. In my desperation, I discovered a way to harness the magic in the woods.
We offered our newfound power to other clans. Still, they would not welcome us.
I ruled with an angry heart. We quickly rose to power and became the strongest clan.
But it wasn't enough. When the time came we sided with the mad Old King.
As fate would have it, Blythewood won the war and we lost everything.

(Old Thomas>Not to worry, I have documented everything Queen Ivinea has said in a scroll. It's good to have this part of history explained, even if it may be biased. 10.THE GLIMMER FAERIES' FRUSTRATION OT>Queen Ivinea, please tell us more)

    [still at the Faerie Respite]

Ruler: We're sorry about how you were treated. But violence is not the answer.
Queen Ivinea: I agree, young Ruler. And we are paying for it, still.
Ruler: You learned from your mistakes, and that's all that matters.
We want to be friends with you and with the Blythewood Faeries. We will be fair.
Queen Ivinea: It's not that easy. Once the tree is revived, we
will be driven out of the Glimmerwood.
    Ruler: Not if I'm here.
Queen Ivinea: That's a sweet scented thought, but the
Blythewood Faeries will not be as gentle.
Their magic far surpassed us after the Blythewood battle.
    They are unhappy with us.
Ruler: You mean there is still a power imbalance?
Queen Ivinea: Yes. They are not the strongest clan. Once the tree
is revived, its powers will weaken us.
The Blythewood magic is unique. It spreads to form a barrier.
Ruler: How do we revive this tree without harming the Glimmer Faeries?
Queen Ivinea: I pray to Lady Finverra for answers. We do not know.
Ruler: I'm sure there's a way, let's think about it.
Queen Ivinea: You have the fiery determination of the late Lord Alcinus.

(OT>Lord Alcinus? He was the loyal Knight that served the King that passed away recently. . . He fled the Kingdom after the King's passing. Many say he left to search for the true heir, or he left due to guilt of failing the King. No one has seen him since. . . 11. HISTORY REVEALED OT>I wonder what the Goddess Tree will look like. . .)

[Old Thomas reads letter from Agnes]
    Dear Thomas,
It is good that Queen Ivinea has learned from her mistakes.
I haven't seen the Blythewood Faeries during my time here. . .
I am not sure where they went. Perhaps Queen Ivinea may know?

With regard to the final trinket, they say the Blythewood Gem is the final blessing.
Though I am not sure how to construct that without the Faeries' assistance. . .
I will send it to you if I manage to get one.

It saddens me to think this may be the end of our adventure together. . .
I must not think that! I am sure we have many more adventures ahead of us!
Write to me soon of what happens.
    With Love, Agnes

Ruler: Queen Ivinea, do you know where the Blythewood Faeries are?
    Queen Ivinea: . . . No, I do not.
    Ruler: Are you ok?
Queen Ivinea: We must not craft the Blythewood Gem.
The gem will give the Blythewood Faeries power over The Glimmerwood.
Once that happens we will have nowhere to go. . .
Can we work together to craft the Glimmer Gem?
Ruler: Ok. Show us what to do.

(OT>The Blythwood Faeries are missing? I wonder where they went? I wonder? oh, it's just an old man's musing. You want to hear it? I wonder if the Blythewood Faeries will appear here if we craft the Blythewood Gem instead of the Glimmer Gem? 12. THE LAST BLESSING OT>I hope this creates peace.)

Ruler to Queen Ivinea: Does this gem represent your clan?
Queen Ivinea: It does. The Glimmer Gem is unique to us.
Ruler: Before we bless this tree with this gem, can you promise nothing bad will happen?
Queen Ivinea: Blessing the tree with the Glimmer Gem will not harm us.
Ruler: What about the Blythewood Faeries? Are you sure you do not know of their whereabouts?
Queen Ivinea: I do not know.
    Ruler: Any objections?
    . . . . . .
Ruler: Ok, we're all in this together.

(OT>That's all that's left to do. We're all here. 13. Glimmer Of Hope OT>There's a face!)

Ruler: There's a face on the tree! Who is this? Is she awake? Can she speak to us?
    Queen Ivinea: ...
Ruler: Aren't you excited? You're safe!
Queen Ivinea: Yes, we are very excited. Thank you, young Ruler, for not driving us away.
Ruler: We welcome anyone and everyone that has no place to go.
Queen Ivinea: Yes, and it worries us.
    Ruler: Why?
Queen Ivinea: I may be over thinking is all. It is my duty as the Queen.
Ruler: So, who is this on the tree?
Queen Ivinea: She reminds me of Lady Finverra's floral maid, Acacia.
Ruler: Why is she on the tree?
Queen Ivinea: I do not know myself? Young, Ruler, you have our thanks.
I hope we are on friendlier terms now.
Ruler: Of course! Are you leaving now?
Queen Ivinea: There are things I must attend to now that the Goddess Tree has been resolved.
Please consult my sisters should you need anything.

Lady G: I am not fond of these pompous Faeries, but Queen Ivinea is not at all like Agnes said.
OT: Agnes got her information from Blythewood, it makes sense if it were biased?
Lady G: True, but any good witch knows? do not trust others so easily.
Ruler: Queen Ivinea was acting weird? maybe she's just stiff?

(Sabina>Whoa, this tree has a face on it! She looks like she's sleeping.
Helloooooo, anyone home? Or awake? 14. KNOCK ON WOOD *Lady Acacia, are you awake?* Sabina>Nope, she's still sleeping )

Old Thomas: Oh dear... Why, I just saw it here a moment ago!
Ruler: What's wrong, Thomas? You look flustered.
Old Thomas: It seems I have lost scroll J971. I turned my back and then poof! Gone!
Ruler: Are you sure? You're pretty disorganized, maybe it's just misplaced.
Old Thomas: I hope so. Shall we check the Library and my home?

Let's make a fresh batch for my delicious Skunkupine sandwich!
    Bread Thief IVY>Maybe it's a hungry thief.)

    *Hey! I'm missing some chickens!
Chickens?! Try missing a family pick-axe!

Ruler: Looks like our thief isn't just hungry. Hmm.. What's the best way to catch a thief?
Old Thomas: I know! How about we retrace their steps!
Though now that I think about it, I don't even know where they started.

(IVY>Maybe Old Thomas is onto something. let's try circling around the Kingdom for something suspicious.
Blind Leading Blind IVY> Something doesn't feel right ...)

Ruler: I'm missing the necklace I was wearing the day I arrived here ...
    The Baron: Oh? You too?
Ruler: What are you doing here?
The Baron: Hah, isn't someone a wet cat. I heard the news delivered by my favorite crow. Is your Kingdom ok?
Ruler: I don't trust anyone who receives news by crows.
The Baron: Why the mean face, friend. I only want to help.
Ruler: You can help by returning back to where you came from!
The Baron: That would be the beautiful golden throne.
    Ruler: ...
The Baron: Now, why don't you tell your King what you lost?
Ruler: I lost the necklace I was wearing the day you dropped me off here.
The Baron: You were wearing a necklace? What did it look like? When did you lose it?
Ruler: It's a locket that I could never open, so I stopped wearing it and kept it in my desk.
What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost.

(IVY>Baron looks like he's seen a ghostly Skunkupine!
I wonder if we can bribe him into talking a little more.
Missing Locket *maybe he'll start talking if I distract him*
    IVY> Nope, he didn't t buy it.)

Ruler: Wow. You re not at all excited for expensive things? Are you possessed?
The Baron: Nothing will calm me until that necklace is found! There will be a royal decree for it!
Ruler: That's nice of you to care this much, but I'm sure it'll turn up eventually.
The Baron: Pah! It's not for you! It's for me!
Ruler: But its MY necklace. What do you want it for?
The Baron: Child, child, its best you not know. Or remember for that matter. Forget you had it.
Ruler: I don't like the sound of this.
The Baron: Stay away from that necklace, OR ELSE you'll see a side of me you won't like.
Ruler: I'm going to find it before you, just you watch.
The Baron: Not a chance! I have a grand reward for the necklace. It's as good as mine!

(IVY>Do you remember anything about that necklace? It has to be pretty darn special if he will give up gold for it!
Baron Rejecting Gifts?! IVY> No luck yet?)

Old Thomas: As your royal council I suggest we find the importance of this necklace.
Ruler: I've tried opening the locket in the past . . nothing worked.
IVY: I have the perfect potion recipe that can help us! It's a perfectly good potion it's a vitamin, pretty much.
    Ruler: But ... ?
IVY: But . . it has a side effect of going into a deep sleep where you recall old memories.
    Ruler: This is really complex.
IVY: Yep. You're drinking a potion in hopes of receiving the bad side effect.
Ruler: Life the Glimmerwood is never boring with you guys.

(IVY> Hey! A girl can't do it all alone! Help me out with the ingredients!
Ignore the Disclaimer *these faeries will guide you in your sleep*
IVY> I like to sip this potion every morning!)

Ruler: You sure? It smells funky.
IVY: Yep. I drink this every morning for my daily vitamins! I mean, c'mon!
Just look at my hair and skin! This is au naturale!
Ruler: I guess she looks pretty radiant. Alright. Baron! Here's to you not finding the necklace before me!
Old Thomas: Safe travels into dreamland! I'll be right here when you return from your deep slumber.

(Old Thomas>I'll be here when you wake up from your slumber!
Deep Slumber *ruler drinks the Recall Potion*
Old Thomas> Relax and fall asleep, we're here.)

*Ruler is sleeping and these are the fractured memories*

    *thump . . thump . . CRASH*
(Leader: UGH! Can't you do anything right? *YOU* are more clumsy than that knight Thurston!
    Ruler (dreaming): Thurston?
(Leader: They'll notice the child is missing if we don't hurry! I'll have your head for this!
    Ruler (dreaming): That sounds . . familiar . . .
(knave: My King! Surely there is another way!
(Leader: Fool! There is no other way. Besides, we're not committing any crime, per say.
We're simply dropping off the child in the woods. And *I* will raise it instead. Think of me as . . the new parent.
(knave: My King! The horses are ready to go again. This rainfall is a bad omen . .

    *Ruler awakens*

Old Thomas: Child! You've been sweating enough for 5 summers!
IVY: Well? What did you see?
Ruler: It was more of the same dreams I've been having. Horses. Wagons. Two people arguing. . Nothing about the locket though.
Old Thomas: No worries. I have a good feeling the Baron won't get to this necklace before we do.
. Ruler: Okay. But let's keep searching too!

(Old Thomas>I think you should take a short nap and decode this dream later. It's no good to stress about it now.
Total Recall *let's think about this later*
Old Thomas>We'll find that locket in due time. Let's set it aside for now?)

Troll Tribe Part 1 - Goals
    Goal Pre-requisites & Notes:
    * For players Level 22+ who have defeated Troll King (refer to goal line Thurston the Knight)
    * Dire Boars make their first appearance. They will overrun your land until you build the swampy pond. It's hard to put up with them, but I recommend you do not purchase the swampy pond until you have a good stockpile of boar tusks and feral magic (aim for about 30 of each). Once you place the swamp the boars will be random and be like other beasts and not show up. You need quite a few boar dropped items for the next few parts of the troll tribe questlines as they do not spawn as often after you get the swampy pond.

    Troll Tribe Part 1

Summary: The Glimmerwood has unexpected visitors from the Feral Lands. Thurston hangs onto his grudge. The Kingdom builds a Swampy Pond at Kaz Tzul'jin's advice.

    * battle a monster at the Sparkling Mine*

Ruler: A Boar? I've never seen one around before.
OT: Ah, that's a Dire Boar.
Ruler: Do they come into the Glimmerwood seasonally?
OT: Hmm, I don't believe so. Allow me to consult the scrolls.
Ruler: I'll take a look around and see if the Kingdom is safe.

(OT>As your Royal Council, I urge you to be careful. Dire Boars are not like other monsters you have encountered thus far in the Glimmerwood. They're tough.
1.A Terrible Boar OT>Scrolls never boar me! )

OT: This is most curious! Dire Boars live far away in the Feral Lands. I'm surprised they're here!
Ruler: How long would it take to travel from the Feral Lands?
OT: A while. Perhaps a few weeks?
Ruler: Maybe a few of the Dire Boars got lost? I didn't see too many.
Thurston: Aye, a boar problem is nothing to fear. Better than a Troll, I say!
Ruler: Speaking of Trolls.. I haven't seen many around lately.
Thurston: And I say HUZZAH to that!
Ruler: I guess.. Let's go check if there are any around.

(Thurston>My liege, don't go looking for Trolls! Be happy you're free of them!
Once you find one, ten more will come! 2. Trolls Will Be Trolls Thurston>Thankfully the Excalibam is by our side. )

Thurston: TROLL! Stand back, my liege. I will soil my hands for thee!
TROLL: Good luck with that! They're already soiled!
Thurston: You know naught of the graceful Ruler, filthy Troll!
TROLL: No such thing as grace in someone that destroyed our King and stole our heirloom.
    Ruler: I ..
Thurston: Do not listen to his foul lies, my sovereign. They're just as bad as his stench!
TO BATTLE, TROLL! Or return to where you belong!
TROLL: I would rather go home than stand here and look at your fleshy face.
The Dire Boars have taken a good chunk of our land and we're too disorganized to fight. Ever since the King's passing the Trolls are more concerned with fighting each other for leadership than focusing on things that truly matter.
Thurston: You're the reason the boars disturb the Ruler's sleep!
TROLL: Your Kingdom Ruler is the reason FOR the Dire Boar invasion!
I don't have time to explain this to you.
    Ruler: . .
Thurston: You look disturbed. How are ye?
(OT>Sir Thurston, in my years of experience, I believe it's best to leave a troubled Ruler alone while they reflect. 3. Troll Alert! *Doing field work, helps relax the mind.* OT>Don't push yourself too hard.. )

OT: How does your heart feel?
Ruler: Not good. Did I misjudge my actions?
OT: You did what was right at the time. You couldn't have predicted what was to come.
Ruler: Dire Boars are here because of me.. If I hadn't fought the Troll King, they wouldn't be here.
OT: That may be true, but their numbers are small.
The Dire Boars pose no threat.
Ruler: Not to us, but they do to the Trolls.
Thurston: Have no mercy for Trolls, my liege. Don't forget what they did to us!
They ravage our crops and terrorize our citizens!
Ruler: And in return we fight them off and dethroned their King.
    It's a never ending cycle.
Thurston: There is no such thing as making peace with Trolls.
    Trolls FEED on nonsense!

(Thurston>My liege, where are you going? 4. How To Catch A Troll *Troll from before, are you there? * Thurston>This stench is hideous! )

    [at the Troll Pit]
TROLL: Whaddya want? Can't you see we're too busy to play swords with you?
Ruler: As Ruler of this Kingdom, I'm here to apologize for what we did to you.
TROLL: That's great and all, but it doesn't do us any good right now.
Thurston: Good for nothing swamp creature! The Ruler just extended a peace offering to you!
TROLL: And I accept it. You may think little of me, but I'm capable of seeing the cycle we've created.
Ruler: Maybe we can stop this cycle now..
TROLL: How many years have you seen? You smell younger than the previous Kingdom Ruler.
Regardless, you're naive. How would you feel if we destroyed your Ruler? Maybe we should have.
Thurston: Take it back, Troll! Or feel the steel of the Excalibam!
TROLL: And how do I know your apology is sincere?
You've been silent after you stole the Big Ruby. Now you're sorry and want to be friends?
You just want us to fight off the Dire Boars.
Ruler: That's not true at all! It just happened to be this way, but it's not the truth!
TROLL: Here's a good start. Give us back the horns of our brethren.
    Ruler: Hey, wait!
Thurston: Nay, my liege. Let him go.

(OT>Troll Horns and Troll Essence, you say? We collected quite a handful of those.. I hope they accept our apologies and return of their belongings. 5. Pay Back *Do horns grow back?* OT>It's not everything, but it will do. )

    SL:
TROLL: That's not even close to what you took from us.
Ruler: I know.. How about the Ruby?
TROLL: Keep that for now. I would rather not bring attention to selecting the next Troll King.
Ruler: Ok. Let us know when you want it back.

So.. why did you attack us and our crops?
TROLL: Well that's a silly question. Why did you take our lands in the first place?
You look lost. Didn't that old man teach you history?
The one they call Mad Old King drove the original inhabitants out of the Glimmerwood.
Our pit ruler, Troll King Zeba'jin favored peace. He let the Mad Old King have his way.
Thurston: Nay! Your foul armpit ruler didn't favor peace!
TROLL: Troll King Zeb'jin DID favor peace. He never condoned the actions of troublemaking Trolls.
I do apologize on their behalf.

Thurston: Lies. You ALL stripped my armor and left me in the COLD!
TROLL: Those Trolls are troublemakers, they are not EVERYONE.
Thurston: Swear it on the Excalibam, hornless Troll!
TROLL: You've gone too far! Defend yourself and we'll defend ourselves.
    I hope the Boars getcha!
Ruler: Thurston! Why did you say that?!

(Thurston>Don't trust a Troll, my liege. You'll thank me later! Let me be your champion! We don't need Trolls to fight off Dire Boars! 6. Thurston Went Feral! *The Boars are everywhere!* Thurston>*pant pant* Everything.. is under.. control..

IVY: The Dire Boars are everywhere..
OT: Indeed, we may have to call it a Boar - dom!
Ruler: Thurston, we have to put our differences aside and work together with the Trolls.
Thurston: We can protect ourselves without the Trolls, my liege!
Ruler: I'm doing all I can! This is not sustainable!
Thurston: Perhaps sharpened swords and tougher armor will turn the tides during combat.
IVY: It's worth a shot. I'll look into potions that can increase our energy.
(IVY>I guess you'll need shinier sword and stronger armor. I still think we should paint the sword and armor with scary faces! It'll definitely scare them off faster! 7. The Boar-dom, Not Kingdom IVY>The Dire Boars are not afraid at all! )

Thurston: See! Nothing.. to sweat about!
IVY: Nothing to sweat about?! You're drenched in it like a piggie!
Thurston: Nay.. Miss Ivy! I .. am as dry .. as the desert!
Ruler: Thurston, you can barely breathe.
    IVY: Something isn't right..
    Ruler: what do you mean?
IVY: I saw one of the Dire Boars drop some Faerie dust.
    Ruler: Are you sure?
IVY: Nope. But it's magic of some sort though.
Ruler: Magical or not, we can't stop them on our own.
Ruler : Thurston, if you don't agree with my command then stay out of it.
    Thurston: But .. but ..

(IVY>Ouch, that was the first time I have ever seen you that upset!
I hope Thurston takes it well. 8. Sweating Like A Piggie *Let's talk!*
    IVY> I bet Thurston's at the tavern! )

    * Ruler greets TROLL at the Troll Pit*

    Ruler: Hi, it's me again.
    TROLL: Where's your friend?
Ruler: I'm here to apologize for what happened.
TROLL: Are you apologizing for him? Tell him he should do it himself.
Ruler: Remember how you said the troublemakers do not represent ALL the Trolls?
Well, Thurston is like that ..but in human form, I guess?
TROLL: I suppose WE can be friends. Let's start there before we jump into something official.
Ruler: Umm ..ok, let's start there.
How do we fight off the Dire Boars together?
TROLL: If we build a swamp in your Kingdom, it may help hold them off.
    Ruler: How?
TROLL: They'll sense the Troll presence on your land and may back off.
Ruler: I see ..so we're making them believe you have more power.
    TROLL: Precisely.
(IVY>Pee ew! A Troll Swamp?! I guess our noses will have to endure it.
    9. Sending A Scented Message *Can we place it in the corner somewhere?*
IVY>Are there any side effects to this?)

    Troll Tribe Part 2

Note: seems like all conversations with TROLL/KAZ are at the Troll Pit

[at the Troll Pit- after building the Swampy Pond]

Ruler to TROLL: It's working! Most of the Dire Boars retreated!
TROLL: Don't get too excited, they'll figure it out eventually that this is just a trick.
Ruler: What should we do now?
TROLL: Don't depend on me for the answers. We're not a team or anything.
For all I know you'll betray us given the chance!
Ruler: What are you talking about?
TROLL: If the Dire Boars promised to leave you alone if you hand the Trolls over,
I bet you wouldn't even think twice.
Ruler: I wouldn't let that happen!
    TROLL: Says the King Slayer.
Smell ya later. We have things to do that humans will never understand.
    Ruler: Wait!

(OT>As Royal Council I suggest we strengthen our Kingdom by building
Defences against the Dire Boars. Now is the best time to do so since the
Dire Boars have retreated.. Peace won't stay with us for long.1. Humans Just Don't Understand OT>We should be safe for awhile )

Thurston: My liege! The hornless Troll has fooled us!
Ruler: Thurston, you need to stop calling him that.
Thurston: But tis the truth! He has no horns.
Ruler: Thurston! That's UNACCEPTABLE! I'm going to ask for his name the next time we see him.
Thurston: Well said, my liege! With a name we can indict him for his crimes!
    Ruler: That wasn't the point...
Thurston: He took advantage of your gentle hear, my sovereign. We must rid ourselves of this stinky swamp. It hasn't stopped the boars at all!
Ruler: It wasn't meant to be a miracle solution. He only promised it'll help reduce their numbers.
Thurston: Aye, my liege. But what is next? The swamp is just the beginning. His true intention is to take over our Kingdom!
OT: Oh dear, perhaps Sir Thurston's concerns should be heard..
Ruler: Let's just talk to the Trolls directly. Playing guessing games is not the way to do this.

(OT>I suppose a direct confrontation will get us answers.. But at what cost? Are we being too rash? 2. In The Swamp *What is your name, anyways? * OT> Do be careful..

    * at the Troll Pit*

    Ruler: Hey, are you there?
    TROLL: Whaddya want?
Ruler: We never got your name.
TROLL: You can call me Kaz. Only my parents can call me by my full name.
Thurston: Let me, my liege. You need not waste your breath on him. ERMM, AHEM..
Kaz, I hereby announce your crimes! You are charged for attempting to conquer our Kingdom. You are to pay for your crimes by swearing fealty to the Ruler. No trial.
KAZ: Are you serious? Well this is what I say to your accusation AND Kingdom - -
    Ruler: STOP! Thurston!
    Thurston: But.. but..
Ruler: As Ruler I command you to leave! At once! Kaz, I'm truly sorry.
KAZ: Are you guys messing with me? Because I'm missing the joke.
Ruler: I mean it. That wasn't acceptable behavior. WAIT! Don't leave yet!
KAZ: Now that he's done, its your turn to yell at me now?
Ruler: I must ask, why are the Dire Boars still here?
KAZ: Because the Trolls are currently no match for Dire Boars?
As the battle marches on, we're running low on supplies. Less supplies means
    Less morale during battle.
Why would you care? Not like you have sympathy for us anyways.

(OT>I'm afraid Thurston is delaying our peace efforts.. In hopes of repairing the damage, perhaps we can prepare the Trolls their favorite meals? Clearly we cannot buy our way into their hearts, but it'll be a display of support. 3. Kaz Tzul`jin OT> Perhaps their skin is green from all the fish meals? )

    *at the Troll Pit*

Ruler: It's not much, but we want you to know we want to help.
KAZ: That's quite a catch you got there.
    Ruler: It wasn't easy..
KAZ: You're telling me? We've been doing this our whole lives.
Thurston: And what else have you been doing your whole life?
KAZ: You again. Well, that's my cue to go. Thanks for the fish!
Thurston: Hah, that's right! Run from your shame, hornless Troll!
KAZ: Arghh! That's the FINAL time you call me hornless!
    Thurston: To battle!
    Ruler: Thurston, NO!
Thurston: Don't sadden your heart. When he sees his reflection in the Excalibam, he'll run for sure!
Ruler: We're NOT to fight each other! We should be fighting the boars! Thurston, as Ruler I command you to leave and never to be near the Troll Pit.
IVY: Don't worry, I'll watch him.
Ruler: Kaz, I'm sorry for his outburst .. So, what are you going to do with all of the fish?
KAZ: I don't know, stare at it? It's a joke. I'm joking. We cook it into meals.
    Ruler: Can we help?

(KAZ>Do you even cook, human? I suppose I'll show you a thing or two about cooking fish. But don't get any idea that this is a bonding activity, alright? 4. Fishin' Ain't Easy
    KAZ>Doesn't smell like my momma's cooking. )

    * at the Troll Pit*

    Ruler: This is kinda fun.
KAZ: While you're having fun, the rest of us are crying! This is terrible!
Ruler: It's not going to taste like mom's cooking or anything.
KAZ: It if did a boar must have ****ed me and sent me to Heaven's Swamp.
    Ruler: That's not very funny.
KAZ: How about making weapons? Any good at that?
Ruler: I don't think we're terrible at it.
KAZ: It's nothing fancy like what you use, but it's just as good. If not better.

(KAZ>The good ol' trusty Troll Club. That has been our weapon of choice since the beginning of time. Here, give it a try. And if you don't like it, well then there's something wrong with you. 5. Weapon Of Choice KAZ>We blow the horn for morale! )

KAZ: The clubs don't look too shabby.
Ruler: I hope it's good enough. We've never made anything like this before.
    *Club snaps in half*
KAZ: Are you trying to sabotage us?!
    Ruler: No!
KAZ: You crafted us faulty weapons so they would break during battle!
Ruler: You can't expect us to make PERFECT Troll equipment!
. . And what gain do we have from doing that? We're in this together.
I'll prove it to you. I'll go with you to the Feral Lands.

(KAZ>Really. Alright. Prove yourself, not to the Trolls, but prove your bravery.
Let's see what you've got, "Kingdom Ruler". 6. The Red Feral Lands KAZ>How's that for adventure?!

Ruler: We made it back, whew.. the trip was tough.
    KAZ: It's nothing.. for me!
    Ruler: Kaz! Your arm!
KAZ: It's just a scratch. Wild boar thought it could hurt my tough green skin!
Ruler: Kaz, that's not just a scratch! Let us help you. Ivy knows all sorts of healing potions.
KAX: How do I know it's not venom you're applying on me? I'm good with my ointments.
Ruler: It'll take you some time to return home. You've been traveling alone as a liaison.
    Let us help you.
KAZ: Find. I'd rather fall ill to a cowards poison than to a boar's dull tusk.

    *Hours later*
Ruler: Thanks, Ivy, for helping Kaz.
    IVY You betcha!
By the way, I started looking more into the sparkly dust I saw from the boars.
I was right! It IS magical dust! But I'm not sure from where.
Ruler: It did seem magical in their den... there were thick spiralling thorns all over...
IVY: Do you have any Feral Boar stuff from your adventure?
Ruler: Sure, you can have what we found.

(IVY>Thanks a bunch! I'll inspect each item and consult with Old Thomas. I'm sure that old man has a scroll or something on this. What's that he always say? Oh right, "Perhaps scroll J481..." Hahaha, ok, I'll stop. 7.Don't Be So Paranoid (IVY>I'll take a look and let you know what we think!)
