So far three 6 hour timers in a row trying for Life. Happens almost every time. Sigh...

So I'm on Chapter 5, fighting my 4 battles and I see that the reward is "15 Island Parts" what the heck is that?

Looking ahead in this tales I don't see a reason to continue. White Glass is not appealing and the final prize is too much effort. I will however level Forgefather to level 10 because I like the way he looks

So I'm not the only one still fighting with chapter 5?

Well, I'm on Chapter 5 but have only lost one battle (number 3 for my goal). I used Forest & Forest for the breeding step so I only had to deal with a 30 second egg. I already had Forgefather evolved to level 10 so I have the whole day and night to win the last 2 battles. I hope things get better for you too

how did you breed life dragon?

Forest & Fire (6 outcomes) or Life & Olympus (8 outcomes). Personally I'm going to use Dino & Fire because there's only 6 outcomes, with Life being the only Common and if I get a Rex 'fail' I will have all the Dino dragons! Good luck!!
