It may still be just a coincidence but I collected from my castle knight's quest to the Plume Hive, and immediately collected from the Magic Garden and I got another shimmering strand. So consecutive collections gave 1,2,1. and in between the first and second about seven collections with no strands.

And it was! Got my first strand this morning, so I'm out of the running for Strand Loser. Anyone still in?

I am out finally got 1 pre Super Bowl.

Magic Garden does not give shimmering strands
I tried 5 days on a row now and still nothing..
Is there another way to collect the strands?????

Magic Garden only way. Its a rare drop so keep the faith.

Yes.... Pay 20 gems each for them in the magic forge.

I only have one strand, too. Collecting every day. Definitely not fun.

The rate of drops for magic strands is beyond ridiculous. Seriously!

I'm up to 3!! I actually got one two days in a row!! (Today and yesterday!!)

Three days in a row now, I collected from the Magic Garden immediately after collecting from my castle Knights quest return from the Plume Hive and got a strand. It also happened the first day after the first trip. After that first one, the next 7 or 8 were blanks as to the strands. One more quest is out as I want at least one extra for a souvenir. I do have five as one drop was two.
