Tap the snowman and it sets off a flurry of snow (overlay) on the screen for approx. a minute.

The snow is a bit hard to see on the white snowy background, but it's a combination of actual snowflake shapes and white shiny bits. It's pretty and the snowman is cute, so I think it was worth the gems.

I bought mine on day 1 and I think its worth every gem. The soft snow flakes are tougher to see against the snow in this Holiday Harvest version but it also works and remains on the regular Farm Story 2 version so you can continue to enjoy the animation after the event.

Is it worth to get the 100 gems snowman? I would love to have the snowing effect whenever I want to on my farm. Hmmm~

You must on iOS, as no background effect on my android (playing on last year's winter edition).

BTW where can I find that snowman, and Christmas decorations or stuff ?

Snowman Farmer is just a regular decoration item while the other 2 snowmen have animations as described in post #2. They are all decorations and dont contribute to any game feature so pick the one you like most. Based on the feedbacks from members, Let It Snowman seems to be the popular choice.
