I don't have the snowman or falling snow as people are saying. Do I need to force close?

I have downloaded the Holiday Harvest edition twice on my Ipad and both times only part of my farm appears. Only a couple of buildings, only crop is wheat, no pets, etc. What's going on?

Same thing was happening to me. It was very slow loading with a lot of blank spaces. Check the memory on ur device. Mine was just about full. I deleted some apps and the rest of my farm appeared very slowly. But seems to be working now. Doesn't look like the event started yet, or at least not on my screen (I also don't see a snowman or animated snow....if I'm supposed too)
