I cannot accept lives from friends it keeps saying I have accepted too many but I have only ever been sent one and it won't allow me to accept it?

Ever since the new update to 1.3.3 neither my child nor I can accept lives. We get a message that we've accepted too many gifts today, but we can never accept any, any day. I am on an LG G3, and they're on an LG Stylo.

Why does it say "oh darn you have redeemed all your lives today" when you have not even redeemed any !!! My mum is having the same issue.
