I know sometimes it can be frustrating with the cost of things, but I just take it one day at a time... I have told myself it is not a race and I will get things eventually.
As you level up and master dishes, you will find the money coming in faster. I also took some advise from others and I have been trying to only cook the high coin dishes.

I just reached level 35 with 435,148 XP. I served a scone when I was leveled up.
Brown sugar unlocks for 950,000 coins... I posted a pic. I'll check out the ingredients for the Cinnamon rolls in a bit.
Cinnamon Roll Cake looks promising based on the ingredients and the fact that the cake maker's 2 other recipes earn 8 coins pp. If I wasn't so far into saving for the jelly donut (ie. if I hadn't used 770,000 coins to unlock dark chocolate), I'd probably go for this recipe next even though I'm sure it'll be more expensive to learn.
