Honestly I use my gems for everything. I never have enough food, and I hate to spend gems to get more food, but sometimes I do. Obviously I like to get new animals with gems. I buy all the new habitats as they are introduced, so that is almost 1000 gems a month right there. Yikes! And of course for boosts during leaderboards and sometimes to speed things up a little.

Holy smokes! That’s a lot of gems! You must buy yours? I haven’t spent any money in the 6 years I played BS or the month I’ve been playing FFS. I just accumulate from doing the surveys or whatever it is to get free gems. I would love to buy animals but sometimes I think they’re a little steep when it’s over 100 gems per animals yet if I had 1000 gems I probably wouldn’t think that

I have no idea why, especially since I am very familiar with ground squirrels as we have them all over our ranch, but whenever I see Ground Squirrel in relation to this game, and *only* in relation to this game, I think of it as ground squirrel, like ground beef. :P

thats funny we have them in Arizona as well. Now everytime I see one I will think of ground beef!!

Is there a list of just the Ultra Rare animals?

There is no specific list. The Crystal and Gem animals are the Ultra Rares. You can see them under Crystal Creatures and Gem Creatures lists.

All the top ones I have from LB are all ultra rare. Not to mention all the top animals in the SBs and WEs are all ultra rares as well and now all these month long quests seem to produce them. There actually are quite a few.

I just now saw your comment. Yes, I spend *way* too much on this game. I need to cut back, but it's hard to change. I actually skipped buying a habitat I really wanted (it was an old one that they brought back over Memorial Day weekend), but I never got a gem sale, and I didn't have enough. I was strong and didn't buy gems at full price. If I buy animals, they have to be something I really like and not cost more than about 150 gems, although I splurged on the Swan Prince and Princess and spent 800 gems to get the pair. :O I've noticed that some animals that I bought a few months ago have been brought back even cheaper now, so that kind of frosts my buns a bit, but whatever. What's done is done.
