Think I will bypass this tournament and just work on the Tales. Actually expected a tournament today, to correspond with the Tales, with the toughest dragons showing up when you need to win the most battles....sure money grab for S8.
I guess you could look at at it this way.....especially for lower level players. If one doesn't participate in the tournament, like me, the 14 remaining battles necessary to complete the quest will be against very easy opponents, as they only usually get difficult at level 18 or so.
you can not bypass the tourney since there are battles involved in the tales
but you can use the low rounds to pass the battles acts easier

I only just started the tales today. Will see how it all goes

My level 15 Diamond lost to both Hercules and Pumpkin....... Unfortunately wins aren't guaranteed. Hoping the rest of the tourney improves.
Not crazy about the look of this dragon. Think I will not actively pursue the tournament and just battle when the tales require it. Hopefully it'll be easier (yeah right!) to win the battles against the lower level opponents and finish the tales. Last time I missed out because I got stuck battling a level 18 with just a few hours to go and I refused to pay gold.
