Anyone know if you can get dragon scales without having a dragon?
Need a dragon.. and you don't have to purchase a dragon.. you will get a goal that gives you one.

I got my dragon egg shortly after hatching the manticore from the forgotten roost. I figured it came from there, but I'm not positive. Sure it's in the goals thread somewhere. As a warning, it's a very long time from getting the dragon egg to hatching it.
And I first needed dragon scales to forge the night glimmer sword in the glimmergate quest line.
1) Free Sabina
2) Open the Forgotten Roost plot
3) Daily gather from the roost
You will get your first dragon egg soon enough, after that it will be more complex!

To answer the original question though you can get scales without a dragon (although it's rare and hard). I believe they will sometimes drop from adventures
Dragon scales are also dropping from trades in the trolling wagon.
