Made too many plates, birthday candles, and icing but can't sell or discard.

I am playing Farm Story 2 version 2.1.9. on an iphone 4s. I made too many candles, plates, etc. and now can't put anything else in my barn. But when I tried to sell or discard, I am not allowed (you push "sell" and nothing happens). Is there a way to get them out of the barn short of using them to make cake slices - I'll never use how many ingredients I made. Help, I need my barn space back!
