My son and I both had level 15 creatures beaten by the Pandaffodil!

I managed to get WEAK attacks against it with my glacial griffin. My son got strong attacks with a pyro pony but no criticals.

2nd try - level15 pyro pony beaten by a level 1 Pandaffodil. Cmon TL this is ridiculous.
I'm currently stuck on level 5, where the level 2 thunder mammoth keeps beating my epic unicorn!

Who cares about ultra rare opponents! I can't even beat a level 1 Pandadaffodil! Epic gem. Epic pyro pony. Nada.

I have a question. What is the purpose of using Super and Ultra rare compared to commons? In the end it all just boils down to if you get a critical hit, correct? So far I've sped through a bit with my gems to level 16 where I am against the Citrine Penguin and I have beat most of the opponents with my Pyro Pony, Pandafoddil, and Rock Rhino. I don't have anything other than commons in Epic form so I don't know if I should be using lower level Super Rares or my Epic commons. Any insight would be appreciated!
