Mastery spice seems useless

First, how mastery spice work? Is it really gonna add one star mastery to my food or what? I try to use it like 3 times and it seems like it doing nothing. Nothing happen. No star added, and the servings is not increase too (at least to prove that this spice will helping me to get mastery star by increasing the serving). So is there something wrong with the app, or that spice is not really working at all? Thanks

The mastery spice will add one point of mastery to your progress. Whenever you cook a recipe with a mastery spice, it will count as two orders instead of one. It does not get you a full mastery star. Hope this helps!

I usually save mine up and use them for timed quests. That way when you have to master a dish, you can get it done faster .
