Isn't it odd to loose twice against the 1st opponent with a lv10 super rare Champion?

(Was already stuck on the last tournament where the opponent was a lv16 Champion, for 3 and a half days (!) until the tournament was gone, playing very many rounds a day, I would not get pass it. And was stubborn not to spend my precious gold. So a few days ago I reinstalled the game and was finally able to win some fights again.)

Just recently I reached Level 150, this should not have an impact on the winning chances in Battle right?
