The lantern sure is becoming a rare drop... It will drop, there is no time limit to finish the event. You will be able to upgrade it, just might take a while.
I have been through the dungeon, library and banquet hall numerous times trying to find this lantern, and I haven't found it. Am I looking in the wrong place?
It may take multiple Adventures to obtain the Lantern. Good luck!

Explore the Thorny Castle's Dungeons (the dungeon should drop a lantern which is needed to upgrade the Pumpkin Carriage - it may take more than 1 try). Skip 25 gems
You won't find it through any other adventure. Keep trying, it will drop eventually. good luck!
Thanks for the replies. I know it take more than 1, but I believeI have been through at least 6. This is getting old!
i have been going on numerous adventures for weeks and have yet to find a lantern. Is this a glitche or is there a trick that I haven't stumbled upon?
I have the same problem! This has gotten RIDICULOUS TL! You keep saying it takes more then 1 try. How about saying it takes more them 10 tries!! How about saying it takes many WEEKS of tries!! I will officially give up with this goal.
