Battle 1 used amethyst because is supposed to have 90% chance. But, I didn't get to find out because my 2 year old hit ultimate. AHHHHHHHHHHHH! So very upsetting to waste 30 gold! I'm sad!

Well, I tried my lvl 10 Amethyst and lost...

I thought it was supposed to be fixed for Android now?

It was my very first attempt in the Arena too.

**Quick question-- does anyone ever use gold types in the Arena?
I have found that Silver wins where other dragons fail, but that is in the basic battles, not a tournament..
Was just curious if anyone else has experience using it in as tournament or if there is a reason not to?

I guess the main reason not many players are using Gold types dragons is because they dont have one...like me. If they win your battles, why not!! Would be another option to fall back on if all others fail!

My strategy is to use basic single elements in earlier rounds until an opponent blocks my progress. Then the diamonds/champs comes in. But if I am too lazy I'll just breeze through with Diamonds/Champs throughout the tournament.

Diamonds/Champs are your best bet but if you dont have them then your basic single elements are your next best bet in the earlier rounds. Good luck in your first tourney and hope to see you bring this Champ home. It'll definitely helps a lot in future tournaments. Gd luck...

I do feel the Gold (treasure type) dragons do good, but I normally do not use them, because if you lose, while they are healing, you are not earning you gold bars.
