Hardly receiving any expansion parts

I have only been playing this game for a few months and at first I received quite a lot of expansion parts ie screws, nails, planks etc when sending deliveries and the odd one when clicked on a butterfly or mole. The last couple of weeks I have hardly received any at all and can do 8 deliveries before receiving a single item and it's usually an expansion permit. I can't remember the last time I received a nail or screw so it's really difficult to progress any further and to be honest it's getting pretty boring.
I did email team lava and they said they would pass it onto the technical team put its not improved.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
