You guys are missing the points.

1. I have used gems previously as it was mentioned on threads here that using gems through the task itself is cheaper then paying for parts etc.

2. I have done this before and it works, you get to next level/ part of task

3. On this occasion when I paid with gems, it said I had upgraded the tree.

Team lava might want you to buy gems but no one is going to pay with gems just to get the little award, they pay with gems to complete that part of the task, and it's worked before and the messages on screen said it had this time too, only it hasn't so I feel I've been conned as it didn't do what it said it had.

Still waiting for response from team lava. I have never minded buying gems in small qualities as someone said if you like a game why not support it, but this has really put me off the game now and if I don't get my gems back or the tree upgraded I will be taking it further as I don't appreciate being conned or pouring money down drain as I feel I have by not getting what I paid for. There are laws against this kind of con so team lava won't get away with ripping me off

No the point is in FS2 that 30 gems button is to bypass the goal, not complete it. So it doesn't upgrade your tree. But in this case there is a dialogue box that comes up when you upgrade your tree normally within in the game.. It sounds like it is coming up when you bypass the goal, which I admit is very misleading.

Actually I have always wondered how come nobody ever sued Team Lava...

The 30 gems button was next to the "Upgrade the Holiday tree to Stage 11" and not next to the +20 presents on the bottom of the task's window. If it is just to skip the task and get the reward they should either put the button on the bottom next to the reward or write it down "skip this task for 30 gems." With that said, we all know there are so many gem traps in this game.. For that amount of gems no way to upgrade the tree from level 8 to level 11, let's be realistic. Hopefully TL will give all the gems back... they are not as mean as they sound. After all this is a business and they need to make money!

Has anyone been able to find supplies in their newspaper? With previous holiday tasks I have been able to find a few, but NONE are showing in mine. I know the drop rate is low but this is crazy, I have like 50 axes and 2 light strands...
