The Arena is open for business!!! (For all players level 17 & up.) I believe the timer started at 5 days:12 hours:30 minutes from a minute before this post (2:30PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time). Win all 30 rounds and your prize is a Nightmare - super rare fire-dark hybrid with a 19 hour incubation time (egg is placed in your inventory upon completion, to hatch in your nest whenever you feel like it.)

You can only battle once an hour for free. Hurrying the timer costs 1 gem per 15 minutes, rounded up. Healing time for your animal after a lost battle is 10 minutes. Unlike the battlegrounds, you can SEE what your opponent will be before choosing your champion to battle it.

To maximize your chances of getting a critical hit, choose an animal that has the element listed under "Strong Attack(s)" and attack with that element. The rarer the better, and the higher its level the better.

Round 1 of 30: level 1 pandaffodil, price for entry: 1250 coins. Rewards: 300 apples, 2000 coins.
My level 15 daredevil's strong fireattack did almost nothing, even though it's only a level 1 panda. But a critical hit finished him off. So once again, strategy matters little if at all. It's all about getting critical hits.

Level 10 Pegasus failed. At least there are rewards and no healing.

It's going to be too much battling here and on DS. One after the other. Takes the fun away from special events. Though with DS I'm almost at max habitats so may have to stop playing soon. Can't afford to upgrade with gold.

My lvl 10 Sloth lost, although I had used him quite successfully on the Battlegrounds. Using almost entirely him got me the Troll in about 2 days. Let's hope I win the tournament, because in DS I always get stuck in battle 22-23-24 ...
