What is the point in clicking on what you want for troop request, when the people sending troops can not see what you put a star on

Good point! I agree.
Maybe FM should start looking at ways to improve this feature on the game. Maybe have the troop not requested in a Gray shade and block troop not requested that way there won't be no confusion.
It's actually frustrating from both sides. Receiving unwanted troops or not knowing whether to donate because troop not highlighted.

There is a highlight for the selected troops that you've requested that the sending user will see. Selected troops will appear with a golden frame.

Remember, the person in your Alliance who you are receiving the troops from gets to decide what troops to send, so there's no guarantee on what you'll receive even if you do make requests.

I think the question is they want to know what troops their peep is requesting even they don't have it!
