The sapling will grow into a large tree. You can collect from it, so it is more than a decoration and cannot be chopped down.

yeah that seems to happen when we need them most. i think they want us to spend money on gems. sighhh

Im looking forward to catching up to this quest after a long break. It looks like i need a few golden nuggets before i can unlock mythic essence and start it. I now wish i didnt use up my nuggets on the exchange. Ah well. All i can do now is cross my fingers and mine my brains out.

We don't lower droprates of items like that. I actually just raised the Manticore Whisker droprate the other day to compensate for the fact that we're asking for them more often. Keep collecting - you may have just run into a spot of bad luck
