Yet another war declared, we were so excited about getting alliance wars but the novelty has worn off with some gem hungry players not willing to own up just keep pressing the war button. Well we've had our first casualty and lost a great player. Been a few days since you guys responded to this thread so a response would be appreciated.
Great that you have included the announcement in chat, thank you! Unfortunately, refusing to restrict the ability to declare war to elders is causing monumental issues. There is a massive downside to any member dumping the whole alliance into a war, and sorry, but once its started, the damage is done. Like likeyb said, we have also lost alliance members because of this. What should have been a fun new aspect to the game is now ruining it because you 'think' anyone should be able to declare rather that listening to your players 😒
Well one day of elders and leader only, wow nice to have no war, bang you change it to all declare and were at it again. Do you play this game if not understand that we do and we are telling you a war is taking a toll on our alliances. The bad feelings are back again. No one is happy, please restrict to elders and leader or at least a few to declare. It's totally wrong that one person can make a choice for 50. You think admonishing will work hahahahaha. Kicking may but there are so many alliances its hard enough to get members.
Turtle, if your team still believes this, then you have not thought things through. Consider the following scenarios:
Alliance A decides to take a vote among it's members to decide whether to declare war. They want a minimum of 15 voting YES so that they can be assured of at least that much war effort. Three votes into the process comes the announcement that PlayerWho has declared war. PlayerWho was not even aware that a vote was being taken because she didn't check Alliance Chat. Alliance A struggles through the war which was inconveniently timed and they lose terribly, crushing alliance morale.
Alliance B recognizes that certain members earn far more glory stars than others. They want to time their war declaration so that most of their top star hunters would be on hand during the final crucial hours. But they can never manage this ideal timing because as soon as they are done with one war, someone who doesn't understand the timing strategy declares war again.
Alliance C is painfully aware of the glory penalty when members switch alliances while war is in progress. So they avoid recruiting while at war. They want to take advantage if a lull between wars to add members who can help them win. Instead, they barely have 10 minutes of no war. Then their newest recruits enter the alliance after war has started to find that they cannot earn more than 10 stars against a base with Royal House 10 because they incurred the glory penalty. This is utterly deflating, and defeats the whole purpose of bringing in those players. If only Alliance C could delay declaring war until they got their new members on board. It could mean the difference between victory and defeat for this growing group.
The feature is almost perfect, Turtle. Almost. Just one more tweak and remove this absurd ability of any one member to take an alliance into war. Implement some kind of required concensus or restrict it to leaders and/or elders.
You feel anyone can declare war??? What world do you live in that anyone can declare war?
