Castle Story: 02/13/2014 Update Greselda's Beautiful Dark Garden

Hi All,

Happy Thursday! As planned, we're continuing the main story. We have a new member in the Kingdom and the story is going to start exploring more of Lady Greselda. I won't spoil it for you guys though ;D

Here's today's update:

1) Greselda's Beautiful Dark Garden Questline
- To start this quest you must complete Potion Shop Gossip and be Level 27+
- Looks like The Baron is back in your Kingdom, just what is he up to?

2) New Crafting Building: Greenhouse
- Available to players Level 20+
- We are adding 3 new staple crafts to it next week, for now, it only has crafts relating to this week's content release
- Faeriebulb Seeds can now grow into something

3) New Decoration: Greselda's Fountain

You will need Greselda walking around in your Kingdom already and have quest Potion Shop Gossip completed.

We heard Faeriebulb Seeds can grow into Magic Fruit :O!

Everybody....please don't worry about faerie bulb seeds!!!! The craft in the greenhouse doesn't net you anything spectacular. Just random crops & energy, etc you can get easier from farming.

Concentrate on the piles of seeds!!! You need those for creating Dark Seeds. You need the Dark Seeds for crafting the glimmer plants required for upgrading the maze.

Piles of Seeds are important!!!! Not faerie bulb seeds.

* Garden is 4x4, costs 100,000 coins, needs 20 Living Wood, 40 Water, 10 Piles of Seeds, 15 Hedge Trimmers
* Piles of Seeds come from Faerie Respite, Magic Garden, Ivy's Hut, Conservatory
* Hedge Trimmers come from neighbors (send requests)

2. Swiftly Stalking Royalty
Follow the Baron to

Rewards: 1700 coins, 6 XP

3. Garden Ceremony
Give:
10 Bread
30 Prime Cuts
5 Lemonade
5 Cake
Rewards: 2900 coins, 9 XP

* Lemonade is unlocked when you collect your first lemon
* Cake is unlocked as part of the Sabina quest line

4. The Unlucky Lady
Follow the Baron to Greselda's Castle x2
Rewards: 1700 coins, 6 XP

5. If You Want to Be Happy...
Build a Greenhouse
Gather 20 fertilizer
Gather 20 Piles of Seeds
Grow 5 Dark Plants (in Greenhouse)
Rewards: 1700, 6 XP
* Greenhouse is a new crafting building available in the Market
* You must gather new seeds and fertiliser. Ones previously in storage don't count
* To grow Dark Plants you must first Create Dark Seeds (in Greenhouse, 3 Piles of Seeds, 5 Glimmer Shards, 5 Glimmer Fragments) and then Grow Dark Seeds (in Greenhouse, 3 Dark Seeds, 5 Water, 4 Fertilizer)
* You get 2-4 dark seeds per crafting

6. Coping Mechanism
Upgrade the Royal Maze Garden
* To upgrade the Maze you need 10 Glimmer Trap Plants, 1 Glimmer Rafflesia Plant, 5 Glimmer Pitcher Plants, 5 Mythic Essences
* The plants needed to upgrade comes from Growing Dark Plants in the Greenhouse, which produces one random Dark Plant.

7. Greselda's Beautiful Dark Garden
Tour the Garden x2
Rewards: 1700 coins, 6 XP

8. What Is This Feeling?
Buy Greselda's Fountain
Reward: 20 gems
NOTE: This is a TIMED goal. You DO NOT have to complete the goal. This is OPTIONAL. It will expire in 24 hours if you do not buy the fountain.
I repeat: You DO NOT have to do this. You do not have to spend gems.

Additional Information
* If you try to build another conservatory and you get a message that you're at your limit, you will need to sell another royal building. Limit depends on your level (at the higher levels its 27 royal buildings)
* There are two types of seeds: pile of seeds and faeriebulb seeds
* Pile of seeds are used to craft dark seeds. They are a random drop from conservatories, Ivy's hut, faerie respite, magic garden
* Faeriebulbs are grown to give random crops/energy. If you have fully upgraded your faerie respite you'll only get them from there. Prior to that they did drop from glimmerbulbs and magic garden
* Crafting and growing dark seeds gives plants needed to upgrade maze (note these can't be placed in your kingdom)

Once you have completed the goals and construction of the Faerie Respite, you will only be able to gather Faeriebulb Seeds from a fully upgraded Faerie Respite.

Greenhouse:
First time you visit Greselda's Castle, it unlocks "Create Dark Seeds". Note from maguar - I unlocked this after Garden Ceremony and before I collected from Greselda
Second time you visit Greselda's Castle, it unlocks "Grow Dark Seeds".

You need the pile of seeds, glimmer shards, & glimmer fragments to craft the "Create Dark Seeds" in the Greenhouse.
When the "Grow Dark Seeds" is unlocked after visiting Greselda's Castle twice, you need those dark seeds, water & fertilizer to craft the glimmer plants required to upgrade the Maze Garden to level 2.

2nd post on the first page of this thread is very helpful for checking your progress. You can refer to it repeatedly to check that progress.






To upgrade the maze to level 2:




The faerie bulb seeds are used to craft useless items you can get easier by other means. So no need to worry about harvesting them at all!

Maze Level 2 (max level)

Drops - glimmer dust, glimmer shards, dark seed and dark plants, mushrooms, mysterious venom, living wood

Just follow this new Dark Garden goal, it will unlock along the way
