Stars earned on a case doesn't work within another case!

I have left over stars in case 1 that do not work in case 2 - Is this normal?

Stars earned in a case can only be used towards solving that case. You will need to acquire more stars in a new case if you need to use stars for that case.

I agree this is unfair and provides no incentive for people to get five stars on every scene.

i agree 100%. I play another game like it that allows you to trade those stars from previous cases in on energy.

I had no idea this was the case. Having solved all the cases I was saving up stars in anticipation of new content. I guess I'll stop playing the game now.......

I am stuck at Case #8 [Unconditional] with 69% solved. I need a Blue Star for the next step (Figure out the Timeline), but I have earned the max stars (5) on all the three open scenes. I need at least 6 more Shields to unlock a new scene. Now my playing scenes in this or previous cases don't seem to be earning anything (Stars, Shields or Gems) in the current case. So how do I get a Blue Star or more Shields and move ahead. Pl advise.
