Got it on the 36th attempt with genie/aether. Aside from a side trip for speeding breeding Red Queen, I've been working on this one since it was released. Yay. Time to catch up on other dragons now.

I had my success using Shooting Star and Air.
I'm so totally sad about those Mist-dragons... I've been trying for this New Years dragon for 2 years now, using Venetion and Lightspeed (both Yellow-Purple-Blue) and no New Years dragon, only Mists.
Well, I couldn't get this guy again this year, but I did get some pretty great fails from my attempts using Diamond/Leo. I got Nightstalker, Seer, Peacock, Cosmos, Aquarius, and Mercury (among other rare/super rares that I already had)!! All in all, I guess I can't be too disappointed
Bonus: Last year in my attempts (using Genie/Deep) I got my first Diamond!

I am trying for both New Year and Fireworks.. I got a 9hr timer with Rainbow and Charm so it might be New Year but it can also be Firemane and Celestial I believe.
