I think I'm officially designated as a troublemaker on this issue now, but you're not doing anything wrong. That combo should work, I was able to breed mine sometime back in October with that.

I do not remember the exact combo, but I have never been able to breed a metal, I used steampunk and night I believe. I got it after about 3 tries. Keep at it it will come eventually, I quite using boosted breed because I never saw any difference after the "free weekend" I did have several good dragons those days.

I think I'll change it up a bit and try steampunk and lotus. Or some other combo that involves metal x black

You can get Darksteel from this combination. Remember, Darksteel is Super Rare, so he may take some determination and persistence to be a result.
