I don't have any clue how you begin to build a bread oven, can anyone help?

Sure. You go to your appliances & find the bread oven then you buy it. Then you collect I think it's 10 bricks & 10 mortars & you got yourself a bread oven.

How do I request brick and mortar from my neighbors?

You send them as gifts now. But when the oven came out you could only request them. Click on the box & then click ask a friend.

You should be able to find them in your gifts you send to your NBRS.

You do but they probably completed the goal and now just need to build the appliance out of the box.

To build the oven, you'll have to double tap on the box. A new dialog screen will open which will show you the amount of parts you have and how many you will need next. At the bottom of this dialog box it will say "Build It". Tap "Build It" and you'll have a classic bread oven that is ready to use.
