One good thing:
You can expand on both islands at the same time. I was worried about that. I am expanding on iceland and I was able to request maps for the original island. Sad thing though, maps are used for both islands so hopefully neighbors will send lots.

Upgraded my nephew's silo once for 250,000 coins. It now has a capacity of 250. Upgraded his fire crucible once for 300,000 and it now holds 25 mystic flames.
100 gold for extra upgrade on both lf them, to great increase capacity (ha!!).
And now he has very little money because he hatched an abominable and the habitat cost 750,000! The blizzard habitat is 2million, eeesh. Ice age is 250,000.
His dragons are 8hours, 16gold. I think his abominable required 28 flames to hatch.
Food is so expensive... Farm costs 1.000,000 to upgrade, u crazy?? Second nest is 250g.
And 30seconds to make a flame with 2 oils is so annoying. As is the six-minute alternative, costs more oils.
I've put together the following table based on my Island's costs.
Based on this I think the best balance between Time / Cost would be Spicicles.
I think the cost of food is going to be the biggest challenge on the Arctic Isle.
Even high level players will struggle with these costs.
Low level players won't have much of a chance considering 1 x Sasquash + 1 x Spiciles (total of 1300 food), you could plant 6 x Diamondates (4800 food) on the main island.
Also the Dragons on Arctic Isle don't produce any coins, so this will end up being a big coin sink for the game (which is what I think TL want i.e. reduce high level players coin reserves).

Ice age = Purple x winter
Meteor = ice age x firestorm
Abominable = ice age x fuzzy
Sasquatch = ice age x abominable
Fossil = ice age x meteor
Blizzard = abominable x Fossil
Snowflake = blizzard x ice
Yeti = abominable x Sasquatch
I just put Winter and Magic and got 8 hours. Is it this? Because I checked the chart and I don't see what else it could be

Once it is done breeding and you click on it and poof you are in iceland.
