Inspiration has not been striking for a while but here, in response to my "non-arrival of the dragon" is my very corny:
The arrival of Desi the Dragon
Hail to thee, o noble creature,
Here at last! It's great to meet ya!
Tooth and tail you'll brandish never,
Anger's worthless, peace forever!
Fierce claws you have for climbing high
Mountain summits, towards the sky.
Fly for fun and fly for freedom,
Bringing luck* to every kingdom.
Let your roars be roars of laughter,
Flames of friendship burn hereafter.
Hail to thee, o noble creature
Here at last! It's great to meet ya!
*For a really schmaltzy version the word 'love' can be substituted for 'luck'!
