Placing newly hatched dragon in stable

I hatched a stone dragon but do not yet have quarry habitat. How can I place the newly hatched stone dragon in my stable?

You cannot. You must first place it into a habitat before transferring it the stable.

Err the Dragon Stable decoration. That houses one dragon, and you can pay for more. It doesn't let you breed/collect coins/evolve or quest when its in there.
