Missing Gems from Auto-Daub that didn't work

This is the second time I've tried using Auto Daub for tournament play and had it not work during that round. However, it still takes away my gems. The first time, I auto daubed 6 out of 7 cards on my iPhone and it just used up 18 gems without auto daubing anything. This time, I tried 2 out of 8 cards on my iPad and again, it used 6 gems without auto daubing. Is it not available in tournament play? And if so, please take it off the screen before the round starts. Also, can I please get my gems back?

Previously, auto daub worked when I used it outside of the tournament. I just attempted to use it on 3 out of 10 cards in Speed Ball 5, using 40 tickets and 6 gems. Again, the auto daubs didn't work and I definitely could not keep up with 10 cards in Speed Ball 5 so I've now wasted 40 tickets in addition to the 6 gems. ��
