Is that all sir pigglesworth is about?

I've been waiting forever to finish his goal and get him (after all the good things i've read about him). Well, now that I finally got him all i've been getting is only one random item per hour. Sometimes even no item at all if i'm maxed out on the one it intended to give.
Is that the way it's supposed to be? I thought it would give a bunch of items per hour or at least a few of the same kind and not just a single item each time you collect.
Bad luck or is it always like that?

It's 1-2 items each time. Most times it's bacon/truffles. Occassionally fruit/Glimmerdust/jewels. Other times things like lanterns, breaded fish etc. check this thread for more on his drops.
