unicorn is the highest earning dragon.

Unicorn, Dark Angel and Helios make the most! Are you on iOS? The album will tell you, or you can look at the game guide thread.
Some high, non-diamond earners include the Atlas, Goblin, and Lightning.
non diamond: currently origami (3560) followed by night elf (3232)
Here are all dragons that make over 2500 (Excluded Diamonds and Diamond Hybrids)

Chocolate= 2533
Eclipse= 2560
Goblin= 3200
Lightning= 3360
