Pop up messages

The pop-up messages keep changing. Usually, I can press the "OK" button on how much money I earned since I last was on the game. Every once in a while another popup will interfere. I went to press the "OK" on money and the weekly update message popped up about the new picnic box and BOOM, I ended up purchasing an item out of the box. I am stuck with a stupid fat dog statue that I never wanted and lost 24 gems that I was saving for something else. Is that on purpose to try to trick us out of gems?

I have an android Samsung Galaxy S II.

I would like to exchange the fat statue for my gems, please.
